Grand Celebration Reviews

They first use a phone survey with 3 questions and no matter if you answer yes or no to be contacted about the free cruise offer they will call you afterwards and tell you you won a free cruise for taking the survey. When the phone rep calls you he or she will tell you about this wonderful 2 night cruise to Grand Bahama Island from the Port of Palm Beach in Florida, at the end of the pitch they will tell you it is 59 dollars per person for government port taxes or a total of 118 dollars today.

Once you pay the 118.00 they say to hold on a moment while they generate a confirmation code, lo and behold when they come back on the line they tell you you were one of 3 people for your state chosen for a VIP extended stay vacation at a 75% discount, this 8 night package costs 1,470 dollars but they will go all the way down to 748 dollars if you say no a few times. They also have cheaper packages all the way down to 268 dollars and will take down payments as well lol.

So its not a free cruise but that just makes it a deceptive practice or bait and switch, what really makes these guys a true rip off? They lie about the ship, the resorts and embellish everything in order to get you to spend money on a vacation with them. The 4 star resorts are all just run down motels in Florida, they say they are the cruise line but they are just a middleman and have no licenses involving travel of any kind. The actual company hires independent contractors in a boiler room setting and pays them a commission on each sale they make so the incentive to lie is huge. Every vacaation package involves a time share presentation in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. that the passenger must attend in order to receive their boarding passes, if they don't attend this all day seminar they lose their fully paid for vacation.

No matter what questions you ask or concerns you have when you receive the initial sales pitch, they will sugar coat every detail and make the cruise and the vacation packages sound like your travelling on the Queen Mary and the resorts seem like Ritz Carltons, they really get sales when people visit the Grand Lucayan Beach Resort website, thats the resort they give you with an island stay and they will make it seem like a 4 star resort. Everything sounds great until you end up having a nightmare vacation and then curse yourself for falling victim to these cockroaches.

They used to call themselves Royal Bahama Cruise Lines but they had so much bad media on the internet that when anyone Googled them during a sales pitch they would read all the bad comments and decline the offer, so they changed their namea few months ago and after a year or two of people getting screwed I'm sure they will change it again.

Do yourself a favor, if you want to take a cruise pay for one with one of the nationally known cruise lines. Don't give your credit card info out over the phone, if it sounds to good to be true thats because it is!
