Grand Crowne Resorts Reviews

  • Jul 15, 2015

As I have seen similar scenarios of pigeeon forge's grand crowne rip off on this sight, I wanted to add more angst we should have for this company. I have a timeshare with Grand crowne . I pay $89 for all of my exchanges because I have little interest in staying in my deeded place, Branson, Missouri. Grand crowne is getting more money from us every year. If the place I was promised in pigeon forge was available , I would not accrue these additional costs. I hope a lawyer tales on a class action suite against grand crowne!

Worthless Timeshare

Don't buy into their scam. Been a owner since 2010 and have never had a vacation stay. They are always booked and tell me to call sooner. Always an excuse not to accomodate.

I want everyone to be aware of Grand Crowne Resorts (Branson / Flordia / anywhere in the U.S.). They have a great scam in which they getting your money.

Here is what happened to me.

I filled out a chance to win a jet ski. A few days later a salesperson from Grand Crowne Restorts contacted me with a great sounding pitch. They offered me a 3 day 2 night mini vacation, $100.00 entertainment credit and a go anywhere mini vacation all for $179.00. All I have to do is take a 90 minute tour .They ask a few questions, ie: are you married, do own or rent, is your income over certain amount, how many children live at home...They then say your all set up. A scheduling rep will be contacting me shortly about time and dates. And that I will receive a letter, this being my proof of purchase. The only thing is the salesperson forgets to ask anything about bankruptcy.

When I was contacted by the scheduling rep about setting up my date for the mini trip and 90 minute tour, I was asked more questions. at this time they ask me if I have filed bankruptcy, been discharged from bankruptcy, subject to a foreclosure, lien placed or judgment against your property within the preceding 3 years.

When I told them I was in my last year of bankruptcy, they said they were not able to schedule. That when the salesperson spoke with me, he told me about the bankruptcy policy. And that it is also on my term and conditions paperwork;which I receive after paying the $179.00.

I tried to explain to the rep, that if the salesperson would have asked the bankruptcy question, that I would have told him about my bankruptcy and I would not be speaking to her now. And I sure would not have paid $179.00 for something I was not going to be able to use. I would like to have my money back.

I was told that I could e-mail them and see if they would refund my money. but in the terms and conditions it states that the $179.00 is nonrefundable. So I probably would not be able to get my deposit back.

I later find out the only way you get the $100.00 entertainment credit and go anywhere mini vacation is if you purchase the time share.

So if you are at the mall, state fair or r.v/ boat show and you see a sign up to win......ask what time share they are with. If they say Grand Crowne Resorts....turn and run away fast. Please dont let them do to you what they did to me.

I am algible to book a time share every other year. When they were not able to fulfill any of my requests, I was forced to book my vacation through other means. Then, because I didn't use my time share in that given year I lost elgibility because I didn't request an extension by a given date. Of course they did not choose to remind me of the extension date.

I have provided the company with requests for multiple locations and a variety of dates ( which they recommend so that they have a better chance of meeting a request), so far they have never had any place available, no matter how early I placed my request, except for the timeshare I originally purchased.

I would not purchase a timeshare with this company again. I would recommend that people interested in a timeshare, look elswhere. I wish I could sell this timeshare, but I'm sure I couldn't even give it away. It is worthless.

Wow My wife and I attended our owner update while staying at our timeshare in Branson that we have owned for 5 + years it seems Grand Crowne Resorts has got a new story for its owners its almost exciting each time we do our owner update but this was total scam if we were to spend and additional $10,300 plus closing fees we would have access to special secret deals and get 20,000 more points and raise our maintenance fees over $500 more per year in addition to the $800 we already pay every year what a deal and not to mention we would forfeit our deed to them and get a new deed held in a trust controlled by Capitol Resorts who is owned by Grand Crowne Resorts/Surrey Vacation Club

Very clever on their part ,said thing is the reason we bought with Grand Crowne Resorts was Fairfield Resorts/Wyndham tried to do the same thing 6 years ago they wanted our deed and more money to give us nothing but a trust that they controlled. We ended up with less vacations and more fees.We ended up with $35,000 worthless timeshare that we couldn't use because they company would rent the available inventory out and pocket the money and the deed being held in the trust allowed them to do it.same scam different company.fellow owners beware don't waste your money. Whatever name they use its still the same people just wanting more money from us.they should be locked up..

These people are a bunch of scam artist!! Beware of them. We were told things and promised things that they did not do and did not deliver. They told us if we. Bought in, we would get a free cruise, NO CRUISE!!!!!!! And its been almost 2 years, Our bank account has been drafted for a monthly payment for almost two years for a property in Branson Missouri , that we have never seen. They stole money from us And delivered nothing. We stopped all payments, and will report them to the BBB.

We bought a timeshare through Grand Crowne Resorts in May of 2010. We have tried to book a vacation through them several times and have been treated poorly, given the run around, and have never received a vacation to this day. We paid almost $6,000.00 dollars cash to receive this deed. My husband was told he didn't know how to use it or he would be able to get a vacation, but was never helped or shown how.

We we're told when we bought it that we should wait until close to when we were going to book it, and when we tried that, we were told very rudely that we needed to book a year in advance to receive a vacation.

We have tried to sell it through they're own program and have been told that it has not sold. I was also told that they have 350 to sell and no one is looking to buy a timeshare, they are just looking to go on vacation.

I have recently tried to get them to let me deed the property back to them, and they said I could not deed the property back to them unless I pay the almost $600.00 maintenance fee for 2015. I told them I would go to prison before i gave them another dime of my hard earned money.

if anyone has any ideas If how to get rid of this property, I would appreciate it.

Got the same run around...

I too purchased a Grand Crowne timeshare in 2010 and have not had one vacation. We were told about the fantastic resort in Pigeon Forge TN. Have tried to book and they never have availability. This is such a scam...

My debit card was compromised last year and they did not contact me until a few months later, so guess what, they gave me a bad credit report. I had never missed a payment in 4 years.

I am going to make a complaint to the Attorney General in MO and in TN.

I suggest everyone should too.

My wife and I stayed at one of their units last night described as "a luxury 1 BR Condo". It was nice , however the furniture looked as if it had been dragged out of a dumpster. That was just a start. We agreed to sit through an hour and a half presentation and tour of the property and in turn would get a discount voucher toward a couple of shows.

About an hour and 10 minutes into the presentation, our assigned Rep, Apollo, went to get his manager when we balked at the almost 18% interest rate.the "manager" looked and spoke as if he would be a good bouncer at a rough cheap roadhouse bar. The minute we showed any resistance to being forced into buying the property, he became confrontational. I told him I was through. He said "no you're not" in a very stern commanding tone.

I said again we were through. He repeated his command, in a raised, confrontational tone while staring at me trying to intimidate me. I asked to see his manager and he s refused. About this time another man walked up and introduced himself as a manager. He told the first manager to settle down. The first manager made a clinched fist staring intently at me and the new manager interrupted him as he cliched his fist again and said "I'm gonna-" and was cut off again by his manager and told to leave again. He wanted to hit me. I felt threatened.

I said "I told you I was through and smiled." The new manager then starts berating me And tells me to be quiet. My wife and I got up and left. We felt threatened by bodily harm. I'm shocked. What kind of business is operated like this? Apollo, our sales rep was wonderful and we were interested in actually buying until the ruffian who thought he would intimidate us into buying came along using sales tactics that might have worked 30 years ago. STAY AWAY. BAD, BAD experience with the condition of the facilities and the management. I caught the manager in lies as well. I feel sorry for the poor people who are intimidated into buying from this bunch.

Pleawe tell all of your friends to stay away.

My wife and I purchased a 1 bedroom timeshare with one week per year usage from Grand Crowne in 2004 and then upgraded to a 3 bedroom ever even year in 2010.

During our vacation in May we attended our owner update and found out that these people have come up with a whole new scheme that pretty much makes our purchase opsolete. We now have to chose to pay another 10 to 15,000 dollars to change over to this other scheme or stay with what we have and watch our maintenance fees go through the roof.

I have checked into selling my timeshare to only find out that with what is going on with this Capital Investment Group, I would have to pay around $3000 just to get out of my ownership. We paid over $18,000 for this timeshare being told it is not an investment and not to plan on making money on it but we were told that when or if we got ready to sale it we would be able to get most of our money back. Now I am being told I will lose everthing I paid plus an additional $3000 just to get out of the deal without it effecting my credit if I stop paying the maintenance fees.

I thought we lived in a country were laws protected it's people but I am beginning to realize that the only people protected in this country is the crooks.

I want out of this timeshare deal without it costing an arm an a leg to get out of it and without it destroying a credit profile I have worked hard to earn. I have a credit score of 810 and I am willing to lose that instead of paying more money into a losing situation.

If there is anyone out there that knows what action or actions I can take to prevent doing this please let me know.

I am still seeing innocent people buying into this scheme every day and I pray that someone will help me stop this from continuing.

Can never talk to any one they keep giving you the runaround or numbers after numbers I have paid a total of over 5000 so far which includes a maintrance fee for what that I can never use. I'm giving notice that I want to cancel this timeshare and a full refund that I have paid into. this is a ripoff and these people need to be reported.
