I received a call from India initially from a man stating that I had been chosen by the US Govt for a "Loyalty Grant" in the amount of $9000 and gave me a authentication number and a number to call here in the states. I waited about 15 minutes and he called back asking why I had not yet called the number he had given me. I told him I was busy and I would and not to call me back. He seemed angry with me and said fine. I also kept telling him I could not understand him throughout the entire conversation.

I called the assigned number and it was answered by another foreign sounding woman. She asked for the number and my first name, which I gave to her. She put me on hold for over 5 minutes then came back and proceeded to tell me my last name and where I lived, that I was unmarried, and other things she should not know. She then told me to go purchase a GreenDot Card, specifically, and load it with $200. She would then transfer my $7000 Loyalty Grant within 7 to 10 minutes and I could take the money off at any bank and it would be tax-free. I asked why couldn't she put it in my bank and she said if I had a debit card she could but it would be taxed. This is where my mind really went into overdrive. She told me that my $200 would also be reimbursed. I asked why would it be reimbursed if I was withdrawing it from my card, and she started the spiel over again.

I told this woman at least 10 times that I only had $1 in my bank account and lived on a fixed income due to a disability, so I could not do what she was asking. She told me to call back when I got paid by my disability and could buy the GreenDot Card to put $200 on it to activate the card and she would transfer my Loyalty Grant for "not having bankruptcy and no criminal background." "1500 cities in each state were picked and people were chosen from those cities to receive this once in a lifetime Loyalty Grant. Have you ever had it? No?" I have this entire conversation recorded.

Naturally, I did not go buy anything or move any money nor give out my bank information. These people have my personal information somehow, but do not have access to my finances. I wanted to warn people of this scam because I did not find it during my search on this site.

Good Luck and please don't "run down and buy a GreenDot Card and put $200 on it immediately" because they will take your money. I am sure, if this "Loyalty Grant" existed, it would be listed on grants.gov. Thank you.

This is NOT a rumor or hearsay! Just a few minutes ago I received a phone call from a DC USA # 202-697-7222., on the line was a woman who may have been of Asian nationality, that was claiming that I was one of a few thousand people that was on a list to receive a USA government grant of $10,000, that I would NEVER have to pay back. She said to receive the money there was 3 ways I could get it, 1) a bank account, 2) on a major credit card, & she never got to 3. I asked, "you mean I have to give you my bank account or credit card #? She became very quite & then the line went dead.

Just got a call from the so called U.S. Grant Department from a Guy Named Alex Stewart with an Indian Accent. He gave some in about me but he gave a prior address and that I was granted $7849 dollars in which I did not have to pay back. Altough, I got a loan for college classes not a grant.. wink wink... Further, I allowed him to go through his speel and I gave false birthday as well. He gave me a number 209-813-0134... * 67 the number. My so called pOC is Sam Martin with a MK151 approval number...wink wink... I aplayed along for awhile and asked for a cashiers check and the name of the Bank they used... the caller Alex was somewhat confused, and said I could cash the check at any bank. I asked for his call back number since his call came in "UNKNOWN", after playing with him with pointed government questions he failed to answer I told him this is not his day... then I called the Sam guy UNknown, he asked for the Grant approval number, I asked him where was I calling, he then asked who is this and hung up. Nothing is free folks, especially an unsolicited call on a non work day for the U.S. Government... the only persons working is your DoD and Security guys trying to keep you safe from Cyber bozos like the two I encounted today... Stay safe people and be aware.. Thanlks...
