Gulfstream Coach Reviews

  • Apr 16, 2014

We purchased an Amerilite 248bh in October 2013 and have had nothing but issues with this camper seems like everytime you turn around something new is coming up. This camper has terrible workmanship and quality. I have so many pictures of what has been wrong and things that have just been added to the list. We just dropped it off for the 4th time for repairs and it's always a list of things wrong. I spoke with the guy over manufacturing and he advised me gulfstream was not repsonsible after it was purchased as far as for a refund. We deserve a refund I mean we have used it 2 times there is always something wrong. This was a 5-10 year purchase not a 1-2 year purchase this was something bought for family trips 12-20 times a year. As you read this ask yourself is this really what gulfstream stands behind or is this something they should refund money to and make things right.

1) Dents on front of unit- We sent for repair and now that it is repaired with new metal it ripples down the metal/diamond plate and the dents are still there.

2) Outrigger right side behind axles its was bent and never installed also no bolt- It has been repaired by dealer

3) Rear unit hot/cold low drains and no sealer through under belly- It has been repaired by dealer

4) Gas pipe for hot water tank loom is too long and there is hold through under belly not sealed- It has been repaired by dealer

5) Strap for gray tank is loose and comparing it to the other straps on the same tank- Dealer advised it’s fine

6) Multiple missing grommets for brake light wires – It has been repaired by dealer

7) Power supply and brake lights rubbing rail on camper- It has been repaired by dealer

8) Gray tank wires hanging under belly wire was not hooked to monitor panel causing gray tank to not register- It has been repaired by dealer

9) Gas line stretching across unit has p clamps on it however they are not secured to frame at all just hanging- It has been repaired by dealer

10) Multiple exit points for wire/piping not sealed- It has been repaired by dealer

11) There is a wire hanging below frame- could be scraped- It has been repaired by dealer

12) At front junction box under unit appears wires were cut- Dealer advised they are spacers no repair done

13) Entry door the siding was cut wrong leaving a sharp edge and metal rusting- Dealer advised no repair can be made.

14) Daylight showing through both wardrobes at floor- It has been repaired by dealer however not how it would have been done by factory

15) Daylight showing behind bed on both sides- It has been repaired by dealer however not how it would have been done by factory

16) Wheel well left side unsealed exposed plywood and could cause damage If water was there- It has been repaired by dealer

17) Under bathroom sink there is a staple with possible puncture to water line

18) Molding in bathroom bowed and and not sealed except top and bottom

19) Back of tub caulk was everywhere all over wall and bathtub- It has been repaired by dealer

20) Behind toilet wall/floor gaps possible wall bowing molding to short- It was repaired by dealer with silicone not how it would have been done it was right the first time

21) Under bottom bunk wheel well not sealed side/ rear silicone smeared all over the flooring and also a screw laying in silicone dried-It has been cleaned and fixed by dealer

22) Under dinette wood is split which could break and cause structure to not be as strong

23) Under dinette scrap materials were used

24) Pantry ceiling molding that was placed to cover seam was not even on seam- It has been repaired by dealer

25) Stereo – outside speakers came on everytime you change channels and USB port did not function- It was replaced with new stereo from dealer

New Issues: These have not been looked at by dealer only new upper metal has been ordered

New front metal is rippling and dents still visible

Upper sheet front nose is rippled and dents all the way across

Upper sheet meeting roof large dent and large gap allowing water intrusion to inside of unit- Was told by dealer metal will not be shipped until 3/24 and can take up to 1-2 weeks to receive for repair it has been told to Gulfstream since 2/7 so water has definitely gotten in

Seam tape is peeling off wall by door and behind it is a different color tape

Wall aft of entry door is bowing dealer stated there is a wire harness causing wall to bow and move; looked at other units on his lot and they are not bowing and do not move

Floor forward of dinette is look-floor moves and squeaks

Under front bed by fresh water tank support board is missing

Aft side of entry door daylight coming in

Fresh water tank when hooked to city water fills up- Dealer advised water pump is out

10. Roof cover left side unit by air silicone loose possible water holder

11. Walls by bedroom move and appear to bow

12. Ceiling above bed in radius is loose and squeaks- looked at other units at Dealership and they don’t do this may be water coming in from top causing this

13. Wall inside is separating

14. Board under bed has become unattached and is fallen over

Although some of this has been repaired it's not the way it would be from the factory when it was built. We just want a camper that we know will be reliable and also one our family can enjoy and be worry free that is why we decided on gulfstream because of what everyone has told us about gulfstream and this was ordered with alot of extras to make it easier on my husband and his illness. This has been so stressful and we haven't been able to enjoy it yet still having to pay on it. We would like our money back. We looked at the dealers lot and also at another lot at amerilites we can't find those issues with other units just ours.
