Heritage Acceptance Reviews

I was in need of a vehichle after a car accident. When i was finally able to drive after 3 months rehab for a broken back i bought a Jeep at a local car lot. Not even a month and a half after i bought it, it broke down on me. The car lot i bought it from never reported it to heritage. I spent over 1200 dollars on parts and still nothing. Heritage only knocked off one of my payments.. ($200.00) and still expected me to continnue to pay on the crap car they sold me. The car lot didnt know how to work on it so they sent it to a dealer. After a few weeks they call and say its fixed. That lasted for about 2 weeks and it broke down on me again. i dealt with the harrassing and rude calls and the broke down when it felt like it car for several more months.

By this time i have my first child(80-90 degree weather). they car stops running after its turned off.. or just never turns on. So needless to say anywhere i go it has to stay running or were stranded. That was the last straw. I told them to come get it. They told me well you still have to pay regardless one way or another. It took them a few weeks to come get it. They sent a guy in a pick up truck with some rope. Keep in mind the jeep still isnt running at this time. He comes to my house 3 times before he finally hauls it off.. almost 3 years later theyre trying to garnish my check for 7377.19. theyre awful people. hateful and greedy. im a single mother living pay check to pay check and They dont even have the decency to wait until after the holidays to garnish my wages... merry christmas to me i guess

I have had nothing but a bad experience with Heritage Acceptance!! Especially their employee named Eric. He is very unprofessional and rude!! He speaks to customers as if they are below him.

I had received a letter from Heritage stating I was approved to be financed and it directed me to a dealership that was right by my house. Since it was a very well known dealer, Ed Napleton, I did not see it being a scam! I had called and right away spoke with someone in finance and made an appointment to go in.

When I purchased my vehicle I was under the impression that they knew what they were doing and I was in good hands. I was told that I would have a payment of $202.22 a month, I was paying for 1 year of insurance up front, and my plates were included in the financing. I received the yellow temporary plate and was told my plates would be in about 2 weeks. I had to put $500.00 down and my first payment would be in 45 days. To me it was too good to be true but I was assured by the finance manager that everything was legit!! I did leave with my car that day and was very happy at that moment. A low car payment, a decent down payment, I was a very happy customer! The only thing that seemed off to me was I did not recieve a copy of a contract. I asked for one of course and the finance manager told me that they had accidently mad a mistake on the taxes, it was off by a few dollars, and I would be recieving a copy in the mail or I could pick one up when I got my plates in two weeks. Still, I believed I was being told the truth.

About a week after I had my car I get a phone call from Eric at Heritage. He was very rude right off the bat. He tells me I owe another $1500 for a down payment and if I did not give it to them within 2 weeks he would have my car repossessed! I was shocked!! I did not want to lose my car that I just got a week prior to that. I let him know what I was told and asked if I could have a copy of my contract and he told me no! I told him I know that I did not sign anything saying I would pay another $1500 within two weeks. He told me either I paid it or he sent someone to get the car. I ended up paying it and I had called Eric numerous times to get a copy of my contract and he refused to send one. He said it was not his job and I should have been more responsible. I have to agree with that, I should have been more responsible but I as a customer deserve a copy of my contract through the bank.

It gets even better!! The year of insurance I paid for the insurance company had no idea what I was talking about. My plates were never ordered. I had a temporary plate from the dealership, I called after two weeks like they said and was told they weren't in yet. I called numerous times for weeks and kept being told that they were ordered but they just didn't come in. I contacted Eric since the dealership had no answer and he said he didn't know and that wasnt his job. After months of calling and waiting my temporary plates expired and I received two tickets! I finally called The Secretary of State and they said there was never any plates ordered for my vehicle!! I had to take a day off of work go down to the DMV ande purchase plates again.

Oh and then I come to find out my $202.22 a month car payment ended up being a $404.44 a month car payment. In my contract (that I still have not received) I guess it says I have to pay bi weekly! So that's what I have been doing for the past 11 months now only because I do not want to lose my car!

I do make my car payment every time and there has been a few times I've been a day or two late. When that happens Eric calls me repeatedly harassing! He talks down to me like I am below him. He'll say things like "I wouldn't have to call you if you paid your bills." He'll call my references when Im a day late telling them I'm irresponsible and he's looking for me. I've asked him numerous times to talk to someone else and he says no. I've told him not to call me if he's going to talk to me that way and he says no. I have left complaints and have gotten no reply or call back. I have been asking for almost a year now for a copy of MY CONTRACT so I can see what I really got myself into and I still have yet to receieve one!! I can not wait until I do not have to deal with them anymore!! I dont know when that will be because I have no contract but hopefully I don't have to continue to be ripped off for much longer!

Heritage Acceptance and Hills Haven mobile home park are the true definition of a ripoff. First when you go in to get a home from them, they give you a polite attitude and act like they want to help you, they promise you a good place to live and an easy to afford payment. Once they have you in the door they own you and there just doesn't seem to be any way out but to default and walk away. They are SLUM LORDS and do not care about you or any other resident that lives there.

Seven years ago, when my soon to be wife and myself where looking for a place to live, and neither one of us had very good credit, we came to Hills Haven figuring that we would be able to get a mobile home at a good price and live in a community that would not have a lot of issues. BOY WHERE WE WRONG!

First we where promised a payment book on our used trailer. Guess what, Yeah we never received one. We have called a bunch of times over seven years attempting to get our payment book and was told by Sahara at Heritage that she would send our book out. After Months of not receiving a book still we called again, getting the same answer and expecting a payment book or some sort of statement and again nothing came. We complained to every Manager we have had at the park, all 8 of them. That should let everyone know that this is a crappy place to live when they go through 8 managers in 7 years. Finally my wife did get a hold of Tammy at Heritage and she told my wife that Heritage does not have to provide us with a payment book or a statement of payment and interest made. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it Federal law for a lending institution to provide a statement of interest payed for tax purposes? Well according to Heritage and Hills Haven it isn't.

Then this so called community will try to charge its residents for anything it can. Example, 3 winters ago we had quite a bit of snow and I had to climb on the roof of my trailer to shovel the roof off. While I was on the roof shoveling the snow off the back side of the trailer, the acting manager at the time put a write up on the door stating that if I did not remove the ladder from my deck that they would have someone remove it for me and charge me $35 for their inconvenience, REMEMBER I WAS ON THE ROOF. Another example, We have had a lot of wind and rain storms. Branches blow off trees, I do not have a tree in my yard according to the way the property lines work for the trailer park, but if branches fall in my yard and I do not pick them up right away then that park will write us up and charge us for them to remove the fallen branches. Do not even bother having a pet, They will charge you $5 for each pet and don't forget to pay it or you will be charged a $30 late fee, and if you refuse to pay that they will keep tacking $30 a month on your bill until you pay it or they kick you out. But watch out for the stray cats running around the park, they will have kittens under your trailer and sleep in your engine compartment of your vehicle.
