Purchased ( two ) exhaust elbows from the same company ( basic power industries ) at the same time . Both elbows are defective in manufacture, allowing water to be blown back into the turbo charger. The stainless steel liner was not pressed in to casting correctly in China.
Basic Power Industries refuses to accept the elbows back for a credit of the purchase price. Total run time less than 1 minute. Removed immediately to dry out the turbo chargers. Replaced the next day with the VOLVO brand of elbows, fit correctly and no water leakage back to the turbo.
The manufacturer HGE Marine , owner Peter W**g , refused to force the selling dealer to take the elbows back. A $259 elbow leaking like this , would destroy the $4,500 turbocharger, and eventually the $25,000 dollar motor. I am very surprised that the manufacturer would not jump at getting this defective product off the street. As it could do a tremendous amount of damage.
I have been stonewalled by both the dealer, and the owner of the products that are produced in China to his specifications and quality control.
