I purchased an insurance policy for my family. In large print it shows $1700 individual deductible and $3400 family deductible. I am the only one in my family needing medical services so far this year. I have already paid out $2200 for myself. I called them about the $1700 deductible. Highmark told me to read the fine print way at the bottom of the page. If only one person applies then the $1700 deductible applies. Since there are three of us on the policy, I have to meet the Family deductible of $3400. I purchased a family plan...why didn't they make this more clear instead of advertising $1700 individual deductible. I am a licensed insurance agent and was never told of this. I took every class offered by the ACA and was never told this. Highmark is ripping people off and will continue to do so until they are stopped.
