Home Legal Solutions Reviews

  • Mar 31, 2015

Home Source Legal, Inc. 3200 El Camino Real Suite 120 Irvine, CA 92602-1379 or Orvome, CA 92602-1379.

Then shortly after we started our modification Dennis Serna called said the name is changing. Nothing is going to change just the name and will have all the same employees. New name Home Legal Solutions.

However, if you call Dennis Serna's phone number 1-657-235-8403, he answers the phone "this is the Business office of Dennis Serna and if you want to fax, the fax number is 1-866-217-1084." He says nothing about Home Legal Solutions.

When we first looked for help a women called us, Sandra Cardozza. Then she referred us to Eric Springer and also Dennis Serna and another Lawyer, Darrell Odom. She set-up an apointment for my husband and myself. We then set up a day and time. We were told attorney's worked in the office and they are all professionals and helped hundreds of people. We spent about 2-1/2 hours with Eric Springer answering questions and going over their information. They told us it would be $1,495.00 and they wanted a check. They said the check would go in escrow till the modification would start then it would get cashed. We were suppose talk to a James Thomas, Senior Underwriter, but spoke with Eric Springer.

Shortly after they received the check we received a few phone calls from Dennis Serna requesting further information and updates on our part. Dennis stted we should hear something by Thanksgiving. We did not hear from Dennis till Dec. 19th 2014 and stated, The Loan Co. will be sending/faxing over the remodification and he would send over to us. We never received it. I called after the first of the year and Dennis acted surprised why we didn't recieve the modification. He actually told us what the remodification payment would be but, again I told him we have not received anything. He said he would look into it. We never received a phone call.

A couple weeks later I called again. He said he was going to get the Loan Co. on the phone and call me to find out what had happened. He never called me back. I called three times and he never called back.

A few weeks ago he sent me an e-mail with the form for our taxes. I already got it myself from the Loan Co.'s website. I asked him again to send over the loan modification. I heard nothing.

This past week, I received a letter from a Lawyer Group stating the Loan Co. is going to put our home in foreclosure. When we first started this loan modification, we signed a cease and desist. So the Loan Co. couldn't talk with us only Dennis Serna. They also sent everything to him, even the loan modification--we never received it from the Loan Co. because of the cease and desist letter. When we didn't make our 3 trial payments they sent a warning to Dennis Serna and not us. However, no one was no at this address any longer to sign the package and was sent back to the Loan Co.

Now, we will have to do another remodification. And I'm hoping this will not cause an increase again on the payments. This really is a sad situation. Please do not do dealings with Dennis Serna (Home Legal Solutions).

Response to Inaccurate Allegations

We wanted to respond to the inaccurate allegations levied by Ms. Minnis in this report.

Ms. Minnis contracted our firm in July 2014. As outlined in this complaint, Ms. Minnis had spoken with more than 5 representatives as we completed many hours of consultation service. After much time spent, Ms. Minnis elected to retain our firm to help reach an amicable resolution with her lender because she had fallen behind on the payments. After 4 months of processing and negotiating a workout plan, we were able to successfully reach a modification approval with her lender in November 2014. She saved nearly $200.00 per month from her previous payment and the loan would have been brought current from the delinquency amount that she was behind, if she made her payments on time and followed through with deadlines set by her lender after we completed our service.

After a trial modification was reached in November 2014, our services concluded. Ms. Minnis was notified of all terms and was responsible for making timely payments to ensure the modification became permanent. A conference call was completed with Ms. Minnis and her lender, that withdrew our authorization and outlined her responsibilities moving forward. Unfortunately she did not make timely payments or ensure that the appropriate documents got returned to her bank and the modification was lost.

To suggest that we failed to uphold our responsibility is incorrect. Our firm successfully achieved a resolution for this client. We cannot force clients to make timely payments or to be diligent with deadlines and documents required by their bank. This report was made in error by Ms. Minnis and we felt the need to defend our actions. Thank you.

Final Response

We are obligated to clear up a couple key misconceptions in this continued complaint. First, our firm did change names in 2014. Multiple clients were mistaking our previous company name, Home Source Legal, with "Home Legal Source", a Florida-based firm with volumes of complaints that has since closed down. Because this led to unwarranted confusion and because we have no affiliation, we changed our firm name to Home Legal Solutions. The complaint’s implication that we changed the name to deceive anyone is grossly inaccurate. Our previous company name has no negative marks of any kind.

To conclude, the client issuing this complaint did receive help from our services but failed to follow through with important deadlines to save their home. Moreover, our firm has aided hundreds of homeowners in reaching positive resolutions with lenders to keep their house. Testimonials of our satisfied clients are available on our website. Forums that willingly aid in the slander and libel of businesses do a disservice to our country and make it harder for homeowners looking for real help to connect with ethical companies. It’s important to be careful who you deal with and to validate a company through due diligence.

We hope that this rebuttal serves as a conclusion to this matter and will be our final response.
