HopeMob Reviews

  • Jul 7, 2014

I started a crowdfunding campaign through Hopemob earlier this year to raise money for a disabled family member. In March 2014 the campaign ended and I recieved an email that said:

"Thank you for sharing your story on HopeMob!! Now that your story has ended, you're probably wondering what's next. Our team will work as quickly as possible to get you the funds you raised. However, processing of funds usually takes 2-3 weeks. As a reminder, our policy is to pay for goods and services directly whenever possible.

You will be hearing from Katie soon about payment. In the meantime, feel free to email her with questions or concerns: (Katie's email) "

All attempts to send email to Katie came back undeliverable. I went to their Facebook page and several others had posted they were having the same problem. I also posted. No response to our questions. I then went on Twitter and contacted them. I finally received a response that Katie no longer worked there and to send my address and campaign information to another email to receive my funds. That email worked but I never got a response. I also emailed yet another email address found on their site and got no response. I posted again on Facebook and Twitter and got no response. Nothing in the mailbox.

Yesterday I went on their Facebook page again and there were several others stating that they never received their funds, either. Their campaigns had also ended a couple months ago. With no input from Hopemob, no response to questions and no answers to email while they post unrelated updates we are getting the impression that we are being ignored. Hopemob only give 90 days to collect fund or you forfeit. Many of these people were raising money for sick kids, disabled individuals or families who have suffered devastating circumstances. Yet once their campaign closed they have seen none of the funds that were donated to their cause and gotten no communication or support from this company. Both the beneficiaries and the donars are becoming very concerned about what happened to their money.
