Had heating troubles this past winter. Heat kept shutting off randomly so i called horizon because i see there trucks everywhere so i figure hey its big company they know what theyre doing. The guy shows up on time and starts to investigate the problem. He comes back upstairs and says" it could be anything Ill have to stay longer to figure it out. But i did notice a few other problems with your system." He gives me a list of other supposed problems it has and or will have in the near future and recommends that i buy a whole new system for like 8 grand at minimum!. I said no that's not happening ill have someone else take a look. He left as soon as i said no and charged me 90 dollars for NOTHING but wasting my time. Another local tech i know took another look and it was literally a loose heat sensor. ThATS IT. After he secured the sensor it worked fine. And he said everything looked fine too. HORIZON HVAC TECHS ARE JUST SALESMAN! THE COMPANY JUST TRIES TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WHEN THEY ARE MOST VULNERABLE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Horizon Service users beware!!!!!!!!! They will never come to my house again.

Wednesday night Horizon Services came to clean my heater but because the Tech forgot to close the valve on the oil line when he disconnected the line from the oil heater pump gravity pulled all the oil back into the oil tank. The tech did not have an $8.79 hand pump to get the oil from the oil tank back into the line. He tried to use a shop vacuum cleaner to suck the oil out of the oil tank back into the oil filter.

After two 1/2 hours he left..........No heater repaired no heat. Thursday can't ...come out Holiday. Friday supposed to be here at 12 noon it is now 4:02 PM no one has called or shown up.

They called at 1 PM and said sending a tech. I asked does he have a hand pump, answer I call and ask him. 30 minutes later another phone call The tech has no hand pump trying to see if we can get a senior mechanic to come out. I asked does he have a hand pump better ask him if he says no tell him the other tech tried the vacuum cleaner and that did not work so no hand pump don't come.

Still waiting.

I guess since they were prepaid $380. for a two year service contract they could care less.

The moral don't always try to save a buck. The other company Burns & McBride never had a problem with this heater they installed it and serviced it for the last 8 years in and out of the house in 35 minutes and always ontime. They also came out 1 AM in the morning a Sunday morning to deliver 10 gals of oil because I ran out and have automatic delivery and they forgot to keep topping off the new tank they installed.

For those even thinking of using Horizon Services I would look elsewhere unless you want to wait for days if you had a problem. Heater was working perfectly before they touched it. Thanksgiving had to be moved to another house what a problem that was.

Since they left my house with no heat this should have been their first stop on Friday. Here it is 48 hours later and no one has shown up. From what I have seen tech do not have all the tools are hardly equipted to do the job. Don't know if they have your parts this should all be taken care of in advance since it was schueled 5 weeks in advance.

I served a 4 year apprenticeship as a boilermaker and worked with two plumbing companys installing heat systems. Because the heater is under warranty I am not allowed to clean the heater and I have all the tools but I am not certified by the state.
