Icon Marketing Reviews

Do not deal with this company! they are complete scam artists and you will get ripped off! This company did not do anything we agreed upon. After taking the $300 start up cost from us, they said they would create hundreds of landing pages but only made 1 crappy looking page that a 5 year old could create better. No marketing what so ever after 3 months! After the salesperson brandon said he would refund our money, we did not hear from him ever again. He completely disreguarded our phone calls, emails and stole our money!! Do Not Use This Company! Hence the name of the company I CON which is EXACTLY what they do!

Wow where to begin. Back in August of 2014 we were approached by Icon Target Marketing who offered to provide us leads, for free, for solar installations. It was made very clear that this would be a business partnership because Icon makes money off of a commission they would be paid on any sale that resulted from their leads. The more we sell, the more leads come our way. Mutually beneficial. Seemed like a better way of doing business rather than purchasing hundreds of leads, paying up front and getting bunk leads that resulted in nothing. So we made an initial $500 investment to get started. This intial $500 would be deducted from the commission we would owe on the first sale we made with Icon. Icon would use this initial investment to set up hundreds of landing pages that would direct customers to our business, youtube videos, and an overall web presence. We would provide icon with information on our business, and non duplicative web content. We would then be given access to their portal which we would use to update the status of all leads and continue our relationship.

After about a month we continuously attempted to get into the portal to check our leads. We didn't have any and when we would enter our business name we would be told it was invalid. I complained to Brandon Hall, the salesperson who set up the initial agreement, and I was assured that this issue would be rectified. When setting up our profile I made it very clear that our market was the greater San Diego Area. The first lead we recieved almost three months into our relationship was almost 100 miles away. This is when all the issues started happening. After 2 more months with no leads. I tried to get a hold of someone at Icon...I mean anyone. Brandon's mailbox was full and he never answered his phone. When I finally got someone on the phone they said that I had changed my password four times and the portal had locked me out. They also claimed that I never provided them with any business information and they had suspended our account because they had already invested thousands of dollars in marketing our business. By the way, the landing pages and youtube videos they created look as though they were created by a 4 year old who had just learned to crop pictures into a video...poorly. If that is their main business to market companies on the internet they are AWFUL at it.

Eventually the woman who I spoke to said I should email my complaints to her. When I asked for her email she gave me her email which included the numbers 420 in it...real professional. After this phone call Icon decided to send us three leads, directly to my email, which were all located in LA. I immediatly disqualified these leads as they were not in our service area. I wrote an email saying that due to their performance, or lack there of, I would be forced to file a complaint with the BBB. They then threatened our business saying that we did not hold our end of the agreement. When I asked how we did not hold our end of the agreement I was given a list of all the things they had done for our business which accumulated to a sum of $3000 and we had not logged into the portal to update our information. When I said we had been locked out of our portal because our password had been changed too many times (which we never did) it was met with agression. And round and round it went. This was a horrible experience. Icon is sham and the services they provide our low quality and unfruitful. Do not pay for their services.
