On June 18th, 2014 I noticed I had three overdraft fees on my checking account. At first I assumed that I did not have the money in my accoubnt to cover my monthly gym membership. This is the only business that I have authorized to take money directly from my account each month. Then, I thought "wait a minute, my fee for my gym membership is only 10.00 a month and I know I have had that amount in my account for the last two months. (my first overdraft fee was in May.) Today Thursday june 19th I visited my bank and inquired about the overdraft fees. I was told that a IDP had tried to pull money from my account 3 times and I did not have the funds in my accoubnt to cover it. They later got 24.95 in May and another 24.95 in June from my account. I was charged an overdraft fee of 32.00 on May 19th, May 29th and June 11th. I told the bank representative that I didn't even know what IDP was. She said "I can give you their number," I called them while I was at the bank in front of the bank rep. They told me that they were an identity theft protection service and they further claimed that I had signed up for their service online. I said, "no, I did not, why would I, I have nothing to protect, I have no money and the only credit I have is bad credit." I also said, "why would I spend money for your service when I can't even afford the basic necessities of life?" The person at IDP I spoke with said "well I can credit you one of the 24.95 payments and it will be in your account by June 25th. I said, "what about the other 24.95 you took without my authorization?" She said well, I can't do that because you signed up for our service, again I said no, I did not." She said i will email you an explanation about how you signed up. This conversation with IDp took place this afternoon areound 3pm. it is now almost 9pm and I have not received an email with an explanation from them. I just want my 24.95 x2 that they stole from me back. My bank credited my June 11th oversdraft fee of 32.00 but they said they cannot credit my two 32.00 fees for May. in truth i think IDP should have to give me the 64,00 in overdraft fees and the 24.95 x2 for a total of 113.90. This is a very disreputable business and they shoudl not be allowed to steal from people. Thank you, Mariana S.
