(typed by wife) My husband went to get his truck inspected in Spring Lake, NC just outside of Ft. Bragg where he is stationed. He pulled in and parked. A woman came out and pulled his truck into the bay. She stopped short and got out. A man then followed up and got in and backed up and proceeded forward again. Finally the woman got back in and pulled directly inside. A loud klang was heard. My husband was watching through the window as this happened. She had gotten the lift foot stuck under the emergency brake line and broke it off completely, shearing the bolts that held it in place. They came in and told my husband oh you cant pass inspection because this is broken and needs to be fixed first. He said I know its broken I watched you do it! He then filed the report with corporate. Corporate called back shortly thereafter and said everything looked fine from the camera view. Well the incident happened in the "pit" There are no cameras there. The brake line is in our possession with yellow paint on the cable covering from where it had snagged. The man that answered the phone for Carolina Lubes for North Carolina said there is nothing he can do and when my husband mentioned legal action he laughed at him over the phone. We are planning on taking these people to court due to the fact that they caused damage to our property and made our vehicle unpassable and unsafe to use. Jiffy Lube responded via email and said they were sorry but the franchise was owned by Carolina Lubes. Following the prompter I was lead to the same exact man who laughed in my husbands face when he demanded the damage be fixed or legal action will follow. Since he disrespected my husband I refuse to talk to him and I will let everyone know how he, Carolina Lubes and Jiffy Lube treat their customers!

On Wednesday, March 11, my daughter took her 2000 Toyota Camry to Jiffy Lube in Vernon, Connecticut and got an oil change. Two days later, on Friday, March 13, when it was being driven on I-91 by my other daughter, the car experienced "catastrophic engine failure" (those were the words of the mechanic at Lynch Toyota in Manchester). Catastrophic engine failure happens when there is no oil in the engine.

We got varying repair estimates, ranging from $3.200 to $4,000, with no guarantee that that was the final amount or that the car would run afterward. We decided just to get another used car, which cost us $5,000.

Went to a used car lot Saturday to look at cars and told the salesman what happened, and his response was "they may have taken the old oil out, but did they put any new oil in?" Another used-car dealer said flat out "they drained the engine and didn't refill it." A third used-car dealer said that Jiffy Lube mechanics are notorious for being inexperienced and being overwhelmed by the number of things that they have to do to each car, to the point that they often forget to do important things before releasing the cars back to their owners.

The car drove just fine until I took it there and now is good for nothing except a charitable donation, which we have done. Not only that, the breakdown, on I-91, terrified my daughter, who is only 18, and put her life in danger.

I called Jiffy Lube in Vernon on the evening of Monday, March 16, to discuss this. The manager on duty just stopped talking to me, sitting on the phone in total silence when I asked him questions.

I feel this is a case of criminal negligence on the part of the mechanic and Mr. Findlay, the “quality inspector” who supervised the oil change. (My daughter was one of the last customers of the day, which I think says a lot.)

This Jiffy Lube is endangering people’s lives and stealing money from their pockets. We are lucky that we could afford to buy another used car. If we had been a lower-income family, who had just one car and needed it to get to work, this incident would have pushed us into homelessness. You just can’t steal huge amounts of money from people and endanger the lives of your customers by “forgetting” to do something so essential.

Our claim to Jiffy Lube was rejected today because we donated the junk car to charity and were no longer the legal owners of the car, therefore Jiffy Lube no longer had any legal obligation to have serviced our car properly. I think this is outrageous.

on august 2nd, 2014 i let a friend use my car. i told her to go to jiffylube to get an oil change while she was out. she called me when she got there. i told her which oil to ask for and everything i needed done.

she told them exactly what i said and they handled it. at least thats what i thought. after they were done she called me and let me know that she was leaving.

a few minutes later she called me again tellin me that my engine was making a strange sound and that she jus wanted to pull over. so i told her to do exactly that. she left my car there and locked.. when i got off work i went to my car and tried to start it and heard the noise.

i knew i couldnt drive it so i called a tow truck and towed it to where i know it could sit which was my mechanic shop. i called my mechanic since he wasnt there at the time which was around 10pm, and i told him what happened. he told me from the jump that he already heard a lot of the same complaints from jiffylube from other customers.

he told me that they probably didnt put any oil in it at all or they put the wrong oil. the next morning i went to the shop and they checked it. my mechanic said he didnt want to touch anything unless the ppl from jiffylube were here to witness so that they didnt accuse him of anything. so we never touched it til the insurance pepole from jiffylube were there to witness and take pics.

they told the people from jiffylube that they think the wrong oil was put into my car. they also said they didnt even think it was oil they put in at all. that it was some other kind of fluid which caused damage to my engine.

so we go back and fourth and back and fourth with jiffylube jus to receive a letter saying they will not pay for it and that i would jus have to take them to small claims court. that there wasnt any evidence that they caused the damage to my car. before ma car arrived there, there was nothing wrong with it.

a year before that i jus got my heads rebuilt. the engine was basically new and i took good care of it. if somethings wrong with your car, jiffylube will let u know with a list telling u everything they thought was wrong. that list says nothing at all except the kind of oil they put in it. til this day i still havent driven my car. this has caused me all kinds of money. caused me to get laid off from work. plenty of headaches and lots of stress.

DO NOT GO HERE!! Just got my oil changed this morning, never had the oil light come on before in my car and now it comes on when I brake and idle. Finally got district manager on the phone after listening to the employees tell me it was nothing they did and hand me back the keys and dismiss me, told me to drive home (I live inside the loop). Now they are changing the filter, he says perhaps it's a bad filter....... Wtf?!?! Hope they haven't damaged my car. Avoid this place if you want your car to run. Horrible especially since the employees are saying it's nothing they have done.

UPDATE 1 hour plus later - They re-did everything and the brake light now is off so OBVIOUSLY it was something they did wrong the first time; wrong type of oil, filter, who knows . . . . I drove about 30 plus miles today, again, I hope my car isn't damage from their mistake. I did make it home (about 17 miles) without the light going back on. The employees did not even say they were sorry, even when I told them I was supposed to be at my friends birthday party dinner instead of spending my evening there.

The incident report I received from them wasn't completed either, only says "cust had oil changed on 10/17/14 left came back this afternoon and said oil light comes on when she slows down check car drainplug tight no leaks filter tight no leaks oil level full. I told her to get it checked out if it is something we did we would take care of it" It doesn't say anything about re-changing the oil, filter, etc. It's great that they put in writing that they would take care of the damage they did to it . . . it's in writing on their "Customer Incident Report"

This place seems to try to steer folks needlessly to "synthetic" oil. I do not like being lied to, was told that I need it for my warranty, and then was told that I have to bye it, when I specifically ask for API 5-30, because they automatically assume I assume synthetic, API 5-30. The assumption should be be conventional, not synthetic. I brought them a coupon for the conventional oil and they forced me to pay for synthetic.

Bel Air Jiffy Luber #116 suggested they replace and fill my radiator fluids while changing my oil.

A few days later my car overheated and broke down on the interstate.

I had the vehicle towed to the dealer who found a white pasty substance throughout the radiator, which caused the thermostat and water pump to fail.

I had to pay to have the dealer replace the radiator, water pump and flush the system.

The head gasket is not blown and the oil in the engine is clean.

It appears that the white pasty substance in the radiator is a chemical reaction caused by whatever was poured into the radiator by Jiffy Lube during the radiator flush service.

Jiffy Lube says that this could not have been caused by them.

To me, it is only logical that whatever they did is the only reason for the chemical reaction, overheating of the radiator and costly repair at the dealer.

They have completely blown me off and have taken no responsibility.

They have no defense in the matter.

On the other hand, I have the failed radiator, water pump, and sample of the fluid along with many photos of what it looked like.

I feel "human error" is the reason for the contamination, on the part of their employees, and I have much evidence to support this, and yet, they have said it is not their problem.

Please be careful when using the Maryland franchise owned Jiffy Lubes.

On April 9th, 2014 we received an oil change from Mr. LaCroix Jiffy Lube establishment. The very next morning our vehicle started making a noise that became worse by Saturday morning. I called Jiffy Lube as soon as I returned home from work that day and they were closed. Sunday morning I took my car over to Firestone in Belair so they could look to see what the problem was that was making the sound. Upon inspection the certified mechanic at Firestone came to the conclusion the sound was coming from the bottom of the engine and that the crankshaft was damaged. We were also told this more than likely happened when our oil was changed. They believed the car was started before the new oil was replaced. They told us to bring it back to Jiffy Lube.

On Monday morning April 14,2014 we brought the van back to Jiffy Lube and spoke with the manager Troy Sisco. Mr. Sisco did a quick inspection of the vehicle and told us the oil levels looked fine and he did hear the noise coming from the engine when he started it and another worker agreed that he heard the noise too. Mr. Sisco then instructed me to take our Van to an Authorized Dealer and have them inspect the vehicle. He also stated that if they found out that Jiffy Lube caused the problem they would pay for the van to be fixed. I had the car towed from Jiffy Lube in Aberdeen to Jones Junction a certified Chrysler/Dodge Dealer in Belair MD. After a Certified Mechanic examined the van he was able to determine the bearing and Crank Shaft were damaged do to the negligence of Jiffy Lube. They also believe that the vehicle must have been started before the fresh oil was replaced. (That’s two certified mechanics so far) Their conclusion was that the engine needed to be replaced.

I brought all this information to Jiffy Lube and was told by Mr. Sisco the owner would contact their insurance company and he would contact me on Tuesday April14,2014. After not hearing from Mr. LaCroix I returned to Jiffy Lube and was told by Mr. Sisco that all the information was given to their insurance company and I would be contacted so that the insurance company could look at the vehicle. Wednesday April 16,2014 I finally received a call from Mr. Jeff LaCroix stating that they were not at fault and would not do anything about the damage they caused to our van. I asked him if he called Jones Junction to discuss the damage that they caused to our vehicle and he said NO why should I. He said he had no interest in calling that he takes no responsibility at all.

I fail to understand how Mr. LaCroix can make such a statement considering he was not there at the time of our oil change and therefore unaware of the damage that his employees caused. I believe this is common practice for this owner to deny responsibility for damages caused by his establishment in order to get out of paying for repairs. Mr. LaCroix implied that I had too much miles on the vehicle and that could have caused the problem or that there was a defect in the engine. He also said I waited too long between oil changes. That van gets an oil change every y 1 ½ months and I have the receipts to prove it I told him. He did not care. I told him that my van has only 83,000 miles and was told by several mechanics that the engine was not even considered broken in yet.

I also contacted Chrysler Corporation and was told the same thing. Chrysler also told us there were no recalls or problems with the engine. He then said that this is not his problem and hung up the phone on me. As a result of their incompetence I had to rent a car from Enterprise for one month, and find a mechanic to replace my engine. We were fortunate enough to find an honest Certified Mechanic in Darlington MD. McCurry’s garage that was able to find us an engine and repair our vehicle. When he took apart our old engine to look at it he found that it was the Crank Shaft and bearings were worn, they had too much play in them. It was his conclusion that this could only happen if Jiffy Lube started the vehicle first before adding the new oil. (That’s 3 certified mechanics now). Talking with Chrysler again they said they believe also that is what must have happened.

I contacted Jiffy Lube headquarters and reported this issue, also the BBB and was told his establishment has a F rating for failing to follow up and resolve customer complaints, and since this incident have spoken to many people and have found out there are many complaints out there about this Jiffy Lube and how they conduct this business. I also Spoke with Mr. Sisco and asked him for his Liability Insurance carrier and Number, and was told he did not have that information and that the owner would contact me with that information, which he has not.

It is unfair and unjust that Mr. LaCroix conducts his business in this manner, and would expect for him to do the right thing and take responsibility for the damage that he has caused our vehicle.

Back in May 2014. I took my BMW for oil change at Jiffy Lube Niagara Falls at

5975 Thorold Stone Rd, Niagara Falls, ON L2J 1A4

(905) 357-5823

most E46 BMWs have two big plastic covers to protect the car. The two pieces had to be removed in order to properly drain the oil. It took the technicians more than 1:45min to work on my car and they didn't seem to know what they are doing. I was surprised and kept asking them why it is taking so long! They kept replying that they are trying to secure the two plastic shields underneath. The fact was they broke the two pieces and they couldn't put them back! They actually did a very bad job and secured them using plastic ties. I didn't know this until I started driving my car then I heard weird sound on the way home. I pulled over and check my car and I could see something hanging a bit from underneath. I am driving on the HWY and all I heard is loud noise and something was flying behind me. I am glad it didn't hurt anyone but those were my two plastic covers. I called the location but they were closed on Sunday so I emailed the head office and they advised me to wait until the shop owner Barry contacts me. Barry did absolutely nothing until today to resolve this issue. I have contacted their head office again but I haven't heard anything back from them. I have actually emailed Barry a few times but nothing positive!

This incident happed back in mid May 2014 and now July 24th and haven't heard back. I am hoping no other customers have to go through what I went through. They damaged my car and nothing is done to fix it

I am done with those scammers and never wanted to deal with them. I am sure my 13 year old nephew will do better in changing my oil

Damages that Barry and his technicians caused me is over $900. Who is going to pay that? No one is responsible and not sure why this type of business is allowed to run.

Went to Jiffy Lube for an oil change. As usual , they try to sell you as many additional services as possible. They said my wiper blades needed replacing. Their computer screen indicated 12.99 as the price so I agreed to have them changed.

when they gave me what my total amount was going to be it seemed awful high. I inquired and was told that my wiper blades were 24.99 each. I said never mind I'll go to the local auto parts store and get them as they also install them free.

the counter guy said we compare prices and were only 2$ more on the Ranex blades so I went ahead with it paying 50$ for 2 wiper blades.

the next day I decided to take a look at the blades they installed. They were tec select. Brand which I found to be available for 7.99 each.

thinking that they made a mistake and installed the wrong blades I returned to the store and asked that they install the blades I payed for. They guy who sold me the blades took my receipt and went off to the service bay. I assumed he was getting the correct blades. Never saw him again. Another gentleman was now at the counter with my receipt. I asked him is the other guy off making a set of Ranex blades. He told me that they do t sell Rainex blades. He was at the register to refund my 49.90. So I got my money refunded without any comment apology or explanation Aston why they misrepresented what they were selling. So I got a free set of cheap wiper blades. Just a word of warning. I would be very careful paying more than the rock bottom price for wiper blades if you decide you want to do business with these people they charged me 24.99 for an 8$ wiper blade and lied about the brand I was getting.

I’ve been going to Jiffy Lube for years. I relocated and went to one location in Sarasota, the service was great. I needed a tire rotation and was referred to this shop. Not very friendly, I believe they’re suppose to clean the windshield and didn’t. Never reset the oil light switch, so it comes on each time I get in the car. They left oil footprints on my driver side car mats. Not dirt-oil that won’t come off. I contacted the main office at Jiffy, they said someone would contact me with 24-72 hours. They didn’t, it’s been 5 days now. I just won’t go to this location again

On March 18, 2014 I went to Jiffy Lube in Lakewood, CO for an oil change. At that time, I was told by the customer service person rep in the shop that I also needed my front and rear diff fluid changed as well as my transmission fluid. I was given a sheet that listed when these services were due that says ""manufacturer recommendations.""

I opted to have the oil change and the front and rear differential done at that time. I said to the customer service rep that checked me in ""Do they know what they are doing with the differential? I know on a Subaru it can be tricky."" He said yes, they knew what they were doing. I said ""ok, because my husband has told me it's confusing."" He assured me again they knew what they were doing.

The next day, March 19, I was driving from my home in Lakewood, Co to Cheyenne, WY for work when my AT Oil Temp light came on. I immediately pulled over and shut the car down, letting it cool off. While it was cooling, I looked up the closest Jiffy Lube which was in Ft Collins, CO. I drove straight there.

I explained to the customer service rep what had happened and showed him the pages I received the day before showing the work done and work recommended. He said we would ask them to check the diff fluid and said they could do the transmission fluid change. I agreed to have that done, based on the recommendations given to me the day before.

He assured me the tech checked the differential fluid and they were fine. The tech then changed the transmission fluid.

On Saturday, March 22, my family was driving West on I70 and at around 8:30-8:45pm, suddenly I saw my mpg indicator shoot all the way up and noticed that when I pushed down on the accelerator it was working. I immediately started pulling over to the shoulder. At some point during the initial noticing of the mpg surge and before I came to a complete stop, there was a thunk. We pulled over as far as we could onto the shoulder and put the car into park. The car was still running, but when put into drive, it would not move.

We called for the nearest tow truck in the nearest town which was Green River, Utah. Our main concern was that I had 3 children sitting in a car on the side of a freeway with no lights, no buildings around and semi trucks speeding past at 80mph. We had the the car towed to the nearest town: Green River, UT.

During this tow (and possibly the next) my car's skid plate was scratched and the front bumper was damaged. There is yellow paint and scratches that were not there previously. We know it was not there because my husband regularly checks my car for leaks because I drive so much.

The next day we arranged to have the car towed to Grand Junction Subaru. The nearest Subaru dealer. We had to hire a shuttle to take us to Grand Junction to rent a car. There was nothing open on Sunday to wait for the car to be repaired.

The car was towed to Grand Junction Subaru and upon doing the initial inspection, they discovered the front differential was empty and now the CVT transmission needs to be replaced. Further, I found out that my transmission fluid should NOT have been replaced until 100,000 miles. The ""manufacture's recommendations"" given to me were wrong.

I am now out:

$200 initial tow

$200 shuttle service to Grand Junction

$387 car rental

$525 second tow

$241 for the transmission fluid change that did not need to be done for another 40,000 miles

$1553

PLUS the initial estimate of $8855 (attached) to repair the car. PLUS the damage done to the skid plate/bumper.

More than $10,000 damage because the front differential fluid was not filled.
