To whom it may concern, this is written by 3 former recruiters of this company. We don’t want to mention our names but she knows full well who we are. Since one recruiter got brave and posted something in July, we decided to as well.

Recruiter # 1. It is never something that I enjoy doing, having to complain about someone and stoop to their level, but I feel that if I don’t, other people will be hurt. I was patient and gave Annette, the owner, a chance to resolve the issue and this spanned many months. She did not resolve it and left me no choice but to contact the client, my attorney, the BBB, etc. Do not recruit for this company and do not become a customer of this company. Everything the other people on this website complained about regarding this company is true! I used to recruit for Annette and she did not pay me in the end. She also fired me and another after reporting a sexual harassment issue and pretends now like she knew nothing of it and was advised not to get involved. All lies.

She had an agreement in writing to pay for all of the drivers I brought on board to the particular client until the debt due to me was paid. Her original agreement she made with me was June 6 regarding this client. She then constantly changed the payment terms at first stating the client had not paid her yet for the work I had done. Also, I have in writing from her that her payment terms are to pay me at 33 days and this is when my original contract with her started in January. Period. She stopped doing this and has not been paying at all. No where in this contract does it say she can use multiple excuses to not pay at all or on time.

With regards to this particular client, She paid very late for what drivers she did pay for, but then stopped paying for the last 4 and now gives a new reason that is completely irrelevant for not paying. She no longer responds. Recently I had to report what Annette was doing since she no longer communicated. I reported the sexual harassment issue and the lack of payment. I learned from the client that she was paid for the work I did and she has no right to keep that money. The client also informed me that recently they Told her she needs to pay me for the work I did as they already paid her to pay me. They also told me that she was paid a lot higher for the work that I did so all of this time she was not paying me or her ex business partner, or other recruiters what she should have been. The client was unaware of the sexual harassment issue and they were also unaware that Annette was keeping the entire portion of the money and not paying the recruiters for the work they did. I have everything well documented in emails and even when confronted with this, Annette chose to ignore. The amount of crap I have gone through to try to get paid is ridiculous. The amount of drama I have gone through is ridiculous. I even told her I wouldn’t file against her or report her so long as she kept her word and paid me for the work I did. And she did at first, but then she just flat out stopped. I really think this woman thinks she isn’t doing anything wrong. I also think she didn’t take me or anyone else seriously when we told her we would file against her. I believe Annette stopped paying when she was confronted with the fact that we knew she was getting paid more than she said she was and she was not paying the correct percentage to us recruiters. This information was found out from the client.

Annette brought me and others on board under false pretenses. I learned that Annette was working illegally with clients she could not legally work for due to a non compete agreement she had with her other ex employer and partner another company. She seems to get in messes as she has broken agreements with 2 business partners that I am aware of now. So for her to make money and get around this non compete, she had recruiters like me do the work for her without telling us she wasn’t even allowed to work with these clients. I found all of this out after my employment with her ended through her other ex partner she is having a dispute with.

Annette is also in Australia, she also employed people under false pretenses claiming that she was in Little RockAR and that this is an American Business. The clients seem to be unaware that she is not actually located in America, her address she lists for her business address is actually her book keepers address, as she does not live in the states herself.

When I read the original first complaint about this company, I was shocked to see the similarities in their complaint vs mine. Working with Annette in general was a nightmare because quite frankly she was impossible to get a hold of due to the time difference; she wasn’t even awake during normal American business hours. If there was a problem with a carrier or client or applicant, I couldn’t get an answer in a timely manner, thus losing money, ruining my reputation, all due to the fact that there was no way to reach her. Other recruiters have complained of such things.

Also, Annette is a terrible business person. Although I provided her every day with updates on applicants, clients, carriers, invoices, etc she never could keep any of them straight. I wont go into great detail but she constantly got which driver was for which carrier wrong, who was declined and who was hired, which invoices were paid and which weren’t, etc even though we literally gave her everything in writing every day.

This is completely unrelated but I only mention it because I know Annette will use it as an excuse as a rebuttal. Annette seems to think her ex partner owes her money but it’s the other way around. It has nothing to do with anything but it seems to be her most recent excuse. Basically her partnership ended because Annette chose to do nothing about the sexual harassment her ex business partner also ensued. It has nothing to do with the money Annette owes me or her recruiters because the client paid Annette the full amount and then she was supposed to pay all of us. We have it all in writing and it is absolutely ludicrous that she using this as an excuse as well as the excuse of the client not paying her on time. It does not matter, she is supposed to pay us at 33 days and whatever little arguments she is having with other people she needs to leave us out of it! No business owner should be so childish. I only know about this because she dragged me into it. Annette was asked to provide an itemized statement of her earnings and the ex partner would do they same, so they could balance out who owed each other what, Annette refused to do so because it was actually she who owed money she just didn’t want to fess up. This is why Annette wont provide the itemized statement to her ex business partner, it is because of what I said above… she does not want anyone to find out she has been keeping a bigger cut (percentage) than she was supposed to. If she provides the statement, the cats out of the bag. But now that everyone is now aware of what has been going on, it’s nothing but seen as all lies on her end. Annette stopped communicating when we told her what the client told us she was paid. Even with all this said, I just asked her to pay me what she owed me and I would move on and forget about the fact that she was dishonest about the payments received from the clients, but she ceased communicating, because she got caught.

Annette likes to make the claim that she paid recruiters before the clients paid her, and SOME of that is true because she had done that before in the past. She truly did so in the past, but the clients still paid her so that shouldn’t matter. And that was HER CHOICE to pay ahead. But in retrospect, regardless of when she gets paid legally she HAS TO PAY US for the work we did at the agreed upon date, and she has ceased paying me. I have it in writing on her contract that she made me and others sign she pays at 33 days. There is no other clause about her not paying because of such and such reason.

She also fails to mention that she stops paying recruiters, she lives in another country, she keeps more of a percentage than she claims she did, she’s working clients illegally due to a non compete, she HAS been paid by the clients already, and she does not do a darn thing when there are reports of sexual harassment. It is kind of funny, she was nice as pie to me up until I got sick of waiting to get paid after she terminated my employment. Then she got nasty. Now she acts like everyone is trying to ruin her business, when in reality it was her doing.

I reported a sexual harassment issue to Annette in July that was coming from an employee of new client. Two drivers also reported it to me and I told Annette via phone and email all documented. Her ex business partner also reported that they were being harassed as well. Annette instead of reporting the issue to the client’s management and HR let us go (fired me and took her partner off the client account). I told her it was not legal and retaliation to do such a thing. She made up every excuse under the sun (documented in writing via emails) but then said in writing she would pay for the drivers I brought on board as per our contract. I told her as long as she paid me on time for the 11 drivers I would not file against her for the wrongful retaliation and that I just wanted to move on. It really was more drama than I wanted to deal with and at the time I thought she would be good on her word

Annette stated that if we reported the sexual harassment issue that no one would get paid, so she basically threatened us with that to keep us quite, stating it would go into lengthy court battles etc. She made us feel threatened that if we told the client, that we would lose the account and no one would get paid. Yes, I have it in writing, her words. She “claimed” she told the client about the sexual harassment issue AFTER she fired me and that I could pursue the issue against the CLIENT if I wished, however upon speaking with the client myself, they had known nothing of it.

I informed her on numerous occasions that she has no right to withhold money from me for work I did that the client has already paid her for. Annette has made a new excuse recently that she does not want to pay anyone until her ex partner settles a dispute with her, which literally has NOTHING to do with the money she owes me and others. However, I know that since she will likely use that as an excuse in a rebuttal, I figured I would inform you of it here as well. Annette was clearly irritated that I had emailed her over and over asking for payment. But who in my situation wouldn’t question her and ask for payment. Every time that she actually responded to my emails for updates on payments, her response was vague, rude, bashing Americans in general stating Americans are slow to pay, or she didn’t answer my question at all she would just point the finger at another.

I did my due diligence and tried to call her, I left her voicemails, I sent her emails. I mailed her a certified letter. I even emailed her at her third business that she links with her other business (lendahammer.com links to jobsforclassadrivers.com) She will not provide any attorney information, but I seriously doubt she has one. I have asked her for it many times and I know from her own words she does not have an actual hired legal advisor, she just talks to lawyer “friends” from when she used to work at an immigration law firm, which has nothing to do with this. She did not respond to anything sent to her or the one from my attorney. I told her I would file against her if she did not. Still no response. I was patient with her and I never once called her a name, although she bashed Americans quite a few times and was rude to me.

A final note, she said her business was ruined because of all this a couple months ago. She said she hated Americans and was never coming back to America for truck shows. She said she didn’t care about her business in America anymore. I don’t really think that is true. I think she does care, otherwise she wouldn’t have written a rebuttal to that other recruiter. As for me, this has been nothing but a nightmare. No one should have to fight tooth and nail to be paid for work they did that an employer agreed they would pay by a certain date. I have wasted so much time fighting her for payment and she literally left me no choice but to complain about her company. Honestly I have no clue if she will ever do right by anyone. Shes ignored everything. And For all we know she is just tossing the messages and letters away because she is in another country where she thinks she isn’t going to be held accountable. She claims everyone is defaming her, it isn’t defaming if it is true. We all tried to handle this civilly and she refused. At this time I have refused all communication from her (although she has sent none) and I have blocked her from contacting me. She still hasn’t paid me and has had every opportunity in the world to do so. As said before, she left me no choice but to report her. She can say we are “ruining her business” by reporting this online but you know what, we aren’t saying anything that isn’t true and we have it all in writing. She put everyone in this situation.

Recruiter # 2 I was employed by Nepean and Annette for a month and a half. I never made any money but I think I was cheated out of it. She claimed none of my drivers were hired. But that is not true because I talked to some of the drivers and they said they were in a truck. Annette was hard to talk to. I wasn’t trained properly. If I needed support or had any questions she never answered the phone. He email responses would come late and by then whatever issue I needed help with was too late to fix. Applications weren’t put in when received until the next day because she was in another country. Too late. Driver issues and questions that needed answering came late. Its like that first complaint in July said. It just was not a stream lined process. When I last talked to her a asked about payment for the drivers I knew were in a truck she said she couldn’t pay because of some issue with her ex business partner which I am seeing is what she told the other recruiters as well. I think she blocked my email she doesn’t respond anymore. I get her rebuttal that recruiting is hard and she only pays for invoicing drivers but how do we know she is telling us the truth about them not getting hired? She obviously wasn’t honest to some other recruiters. Her website is still active so she must still be doing this job. I ended up calling one of the carriers and I know some of my drivers were hired.

Recruiter # 3. I am glad other people have said something because I think I got scammed. Annette made me think this was a great job because I would get to work from home and set my own hours. But I didn’t feel I got any support from her. She never answered the phone and took forever on emails. Now I know why and that I am not alone. A couple other recruiters didn’t want to say anything and were scared but now I am glad we all did because what Annette is doing isn’t right. I don’t have any way of knowing if what she told me was true or not. I would follow up with her about my applicants and she told me none got hired. But when I talked to them they were at orientation. Then she’d act like she never got the application or that we no longer work with the carrier so all my work with the driver was no good. To this day I still don’t know what was up with her but now I have a good idea. Don’t work for her and don’t use her to recruit for your trucking company. She acts like she is some nice person that does all this great stuff for recruiters but she doesn’t. I think more recruiters need to say something and trucking companys need to avoid contracting with this company.
