I hired this law firm for a bankruptcy matter which was urgent due to an upcoming foreclosure trial. I paid attorney fees, court cost, and took the required credit counseling class expeditiously. I was given conflicting information by non attorneys, and never received any follow up once they collected my money. A few days after hiring them it became obvious that they were not going to file my bankruptcy motion in time to stop the foreclosure trial. I was forced to cancel their service, and immediately hired another law firm which filed an emergency suggestion of bankruptcy within tweny five minutes, after meeting the attorney. KEL has collected nearly two thousand dollars in fees, and has not provided an ounce of work in which they were hired. I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney General, Florida Bar, BBB, and last but not least a civil law suit. Please do yourself a favor and don't ignore the negative reviews and make my same mistake. This Law firm was also banned for a period of time from filing bankruptcies in Central Florida, and kicked off the BBB.
Hello! here is my story with kel attorneys for 1900$! me and my husband leave in fort lauderdale fl. We are renting an appartment. Since we saved some money for our own place we decided to buy a condo this march. But we can`t afford anything here and we found a condo in tampa fl. We signed a contract for one apartment, paid deposit, inspection, got a contract from title company, but 12 hours before the seller call off the deal!. So in result we didn`t buy this apartment, and we lost apportunity to buy another one. Because while we have been waiting for closing one month, other apartment in the same price range had been sold. And at this moment our life we were need a professional legal advice and help. We found kel attorneys in internet and we called them. The representative on the phone scheduled an appointment to see a lawyer for next day afternoon on april 16th 2015. Once we arrived to their office, we were escorted to a conference room here andre viruez South east florida intake manager) met us. After reviewing our documents he assured as that kel will help us resolve our problem. As a first step. We were had to send a demand letter to a seller via overnight mail because it was very urgent matter. They charged us 950$ for that. After all he insisted that with the help that letter we were gonna succeed, and strongly reccomended that we hire their attorney in that area angela paye to represent us during the closing and charged us for another 950$.
It is may 13th today. The demend letter was never send out, as a result no action taken we have lost that apartment. All of the apartments in affordable price range are gone now, so we stuck. Person who was assuring us in success Andre viruez) turned out not to be even a lawyer, and we not sure if he even has any kind of legal education. Asking them for help turned us in to even more desperate situation then before.
Once the apartment was gone we went to their office at 888 south andrews ave. Suite 302, fort lauderdale, fl 33316, to reques a refund. The door of the office was locked! we knoked, and found out that it was done on purpose, probably to keep complaining people away. After they recive your money, you their real face. They being rude,agresive, they start showing their attitude and show that you you not welcome in their office anymore. Next day we came back the door was locked again, and the front desk attendant let us in only when we said that we were there do drop an additional documents for our case, after she found out we were there for a refund she called other representative to make us leave. They said that the only peron who can help us is andre viruez, and he is not in the office today, so there is no reason for us to waiste their time! we rejected to leave after what they started to get mad. And guess what in about half an hour andre viruez walked into the office. Apparently he is the one in charge of that office, and his job is to kepp people calm by prommising something that they not going to do anyway. He said that usually they do not do refunds, but for us they would do an exception for us. He called some lade named shelly with that matter, and she prommised to do a wire transfer next day. Unfortunately that was only the begining of the story. Of couse we did not get any money back! we have gone to their office more then 5 times, called, emailed, left voice message. Result - no money back yet. Every day a new lie! they have not done anything, and they do not want to give us 1900$ back!
Later on we found a very interesting point in a contract in section c/5 of our contract with them:
As the true contract the payments made for initial and/or supplimental contracts is non refundable even if the firm does not exhaust the contract amount.
It is a shame that these days in usa there are people who suppose to represent your rights and help you simply ripping you off, and no action is being taken to end that injustice.

Conclusion: stay away from kel attorneys!
On May 2 2014 I drove 80 miles to Kel Attorneys in Orlando. Unfortunatly my husband has dementia
and I was forced to quit my job that was 35 miles away from hame to take care of him. I met with a
attorney at that time about filing chapter 7 he recommended chapter 13. After a hour in conference
we decided this was the decision based on his recommendation. The following day I sent them $1500.00
for the cost of the bankrupt to proceed. In addition they asked for another $330.00 to file the petion in
the courts. I was never contacted other than from serveral clerks to send in assorted documents this was
requested serveral times thru out the next 4 months. I kept sending these documents over night. In most
cases the documents were duplicated for what ever reason. I think they were staling. Still no sign of any
work being done on my case. In Sept. I got a phone call requesting a phone conference call to talk to a
attorney. First the attorney talked about chapter 7 and I replied no chapter 13 than they said I needed
another call from some other attorney about chapter 13. I waited for that call for days. Finally got the call
from the new attorney, in her office was a paralegal that was preparing the petition to the courts. They
proceeded to verify documentation on the petition and made some changes, they e- mailed to me to verify
again. Then out of the blue I get a phone call telling me I am not able to file bankruptcy. Apparently
some ignorant paralegal named Candice Mountz contacted me view e-mail and proceded to inform me
there would be no refund of any kind, for attorney's fees or for the petition to the courts that was never filed
on my behalf. My husband and I are on social security he his very ill and I am his only cartaker I needed help
I trusted these people to do the right thing. They used stall tactics to keep my money and apparently this
is there MO. I asked via e-mail for a statement of my account to this Candice Mountz and left a message
on her voice mail and called in to the billing dept. for explanation to date have not received a call back or
statement that make them accountable for keeping all of my monies. They did not complete the service
I paid for. Upon looking up this firm they have so many complaints from consumers as well as employees
If not any thing else they should not be allowed to continue to rip people off they way they do.
