I met a representativ from Pittsburgh Exteriors/New Houseworx at a home show in the area. The sales representative seemed ike a reputable, sincere individual. They came to my home to give me an estimate on refacing my kitchen cabinets. I was told that it would be six to eight weeks before the work would start. I selected the cabinet refacing that I wanted, ordered the hardware for the cabinets. The hardware came to my home withn about 4 weeks. Around the time that I thought I should be on the schedue I contacted the company to see if I could get a start date. After several calls, and no one returning my calls, I located their office and showed up there to get some information. The installer would not return my call, the owner (Kevin Elliott) would not return my calls and after constant prodding, I was told that a different person would be doing my work because the original person was no longer with the company. Each and every person I delt with was eventually no longer with the company.
When the peron finally showed up to do the work I was estatic. However, the person that showed up was just a "handy man" that they hired to help get work done. His work was not up to par...He couldn't even see things that were done wrong.
To date, the work has not been completed. I am waiting for the installer (Marvin) to come back and complete work that has not been finished. I have called and spoke with Maggie, but have never heard back as to when someone will be here to finish the job.
In my 66 years on this earth, I have NEVER dealt with a company so completely unorganized, incompetent and every oter adjective that I can think of. I will never use a home show company again and I would love to make sure that people looking to use this company thinks twice about doing it.
The laughable thing is....I have a lifetime warranty on the work....they (hopefully) will not be in business long. I pray that no one else succumbs to this company and Kevin Elliott. Such a scam.
