I was in the process of remodeling a house and was looking for a couch, my wife and i like going to living spaces in scottsdale and one day i had the day off and decided to go order a couch.
I was approached by a sales lady their named katie crouse d/b/a kiki international design, she helped me find a couch and asked if i had a designer helping us out, i said no and she said that she was and that should could help us put things together for us i told her that would be great because we don’t have an ounce of putting stuff together and making it match.
While we were picking out couches, because the one the wife and i liked was discontinued she said so she showed me a few and i picked one out and then we started going over fabric and with me not having the since to put things together, she said she was an interior designer and that she could come out and see what we wanted to do and see if she could help us. I said awesome are you old enough to be an interior designer because she looks not much older than 22, but she said she had a degree in interior design and she was 34 or something like that.
We continued to talk over fabric for the couch and she had mentioned that what nice about working here is that living spaces checks to make sure we are licensed and bonded and we must be in good standing with our insurance ect. I said that awesome for you and the client because like myself i have no idea where to start and as you see i go for the couch.
We set up a time for her to come over and meet the wife and see our project, we had hired another contractor to come in and to the construction part and she was coming in behind him to put the final touches on our project.
Well the other contractor come in and did the demo and unfortunately didn’t finish the job on time and katie told the contractor that she could finish the job because we had family coming in 4days and she was falling behind on what she needed to do.
Katie crouse d/b/a kiki international design came in and got it to look presentable for the family when they showed up. I paid her half and she said she would be back to finish the job and do final touches that needed to be done.
We were leaving for san diego for 5 days got a hold of katie and she came by to grab the key and said no problem i will have everything done when you get back. I trusted katie because d/b /a kiki international design she did a good job up until now and she worked for living spaces how could i go wrong, so i told her i would pay her in full and please make sure it’s finished when we get back.
Well when we got back the drapes weren’t hung and the walls weren’t completed and half of my hallway was not painted and still have masking tape on the walls. I called her and said what happened she said do you like it and i said it’s not completed, she said ohh they ran out of paint i said you cashed my check and promised it would be finished when we got back.
She came over to look at it and brought the drapes with her, i was very upset but kept my cool. I told her i didn’t like coming into a house with no drapes up and who knows if anybody been looking in or whatever, so i also asked her why it’s not completed you had said that you were off work that weekend and that you would make sure that the job was completed.
Come to find out that she had to work and she had somebody in my house that i was not aware of and she wasn’t even here when they where present i got angrier, i can believe you had someone in our house besides you. What happened to you were off work this weekend and it would be done, she texted supposedly the painter and said she would get him over here. So she hung the drapes and steamed the wrinkles out and said she would get back with me.
Well it’s been over a month and no calls back and she has our pictures up on facebook, i have called her and texted her several times to take down the pictures we wish not to have them up due to our privacy i can’t believe living spaces would hire a person that will not return calls or even say hey i’m sorry i want to make this right, i understand there are issues and things come up but when you ignore someone and you have been paid in full and in the first meeting she assures you that living spaces makes sure there employees go through background checks etc. To make sure this stuff doesn’t happen, i find that living spaces let this one slip through the cracks
So in closing katie crouse d/b/a kiki international was paid in full for a job she didn’t complete, and was employed by living spaces in scottsdale arizona.
Again i have asked her to please remove the pics of our house on facebook and she refuses to do so, we did not sign anyting giving her permission to post or advertise pics of our house. Next stop manager of living spaces in scottsdale az. And see if what they are going to do about this since she works for them.
Well i waited to post this because i was waiting for the manager kristin trappe-bollinger, when we spoke she yesterday she said that she had gotten with her partners and they decided there was nothing they were going to do she was very short and acted like she didn’t care at all. I asked her a couple of questions and she refused to answer them and said this conversation is over and hung up.
So i will be taking legal action because katie crouse d/b/a kiki international design who works for living spaces and approached me about coming over and doing the interior work of our home when she assured me that living spaces. When i spoke to kristin trappe-bollinger she said they do background checks.
