The worst site I have ever dealt with. I will never in my life rent books from here again. The customer service department is rude and downgrading. The books are an expensive robbery. The website is tricky and honestly they don't care about anything besides making sure to rob your bank account. They will continuously charge your bank account and then say they will not give you your money back. They will have a lawsuit on their hands before too long when they do this to the wrong person. DO NOT RENT FROM KNETBOOKS.COM UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY $300 FOR A BOOK THAT IS '$50 RENTAL'!!!! just trying to help everyone out! Maybe they will realize or get shut down, either one. THIS SITE IS THE BIGGEST SCAM. DO OT RENT BOOKS FROM KNETBOOKS BECAUSE THEY WILL LITERALLY ROB YOU.

I rented a book from Knet books on line for my son for college. This is how they advertise . Why rent a textbooks? Renting textbooks from knetbooks.com can save you tons of precious cash. Whether you need to rent your textbook for a semester, summer session or even a quarter, we have an option for you. If you want to keep your book rental even longer you can extend your rental period by 15 or 30 days for a small fee. After finals, send it back at no cost, just print a free shipping label and return your textbooks. Where does it say for less than a semester? Apparently that was what I choose when I rented this book without understanding that this book needed to be returned before finals. If I wanted to keep the book longer, I never got a notice mailed or emailed about extending the time for a small fee cause if I did I would have. Instead they simply charged my card the full price of the book and never notified me. I only find this out when I am ready to return the book. They said don't bother you bought it. I never got a notice of that either. No reciept of charging my card without my permission. Other book rental companies emailed me every week, stating you have 20 more days till you need to return your book. Not this company. They won't return my money. This company is a scam and have gotten many other negative reports on various web sites. College kids and their parents are busy, this company is preying on them in hopes they screw up, forget, or is late so they can reap more money.Here is want they wrote on their site. False Advertisiment for sure. Because Knetbooks knows college students. Our rental program is designed to save you time and money. Whether you need a textbook for a semester, quarter or even a summer session, we have an option for you. Simply select a rental period, enter your information and your book will be on its way! Why do they have short term as an option when they don't mention it in their advertising of why rent a textbook from knetbooks? This and the other why rent never mentions half a semester do they? But the button marked is automatically on short term, so if you are rushing along you missed that you just rented for less than a semsester. Who does that. Don't you need a book for finals? Please do something aobut this company. Report to better business bureau too.

I rented a book on Cultural Anthropology for this past semester with a rental price of approximately $35.00. My semester ended just before the holidays. Then on December 30th I got a call from my wife asking if I had bought $205.00 worth of books. To my shock, I checked our account and found that knetbooks had charged me the full retail price of a new book!! The book I received was 'good' at best, as it had been scribbled in throughout, highlighted heavily, and had some cover damage. I printed out the label that day and sent it back. I waited until Jan.12th before calling, as no refund had been issued. I tried their online chat, which turned out to be non-operational. So, I called them. After waiting for 40 minutes, I finally spoke with an ineffectual customer service agent without any power to do anything aside from recite the company's policies. I expected to be assessed a nominal late fee. Since the book cost $35.00 for an entire semester, I figured a $10-$20 late fee would be punitive. Man, was I wrong! Their policy is to refund only half the purchase price of the book! So, because it was less than a week late, I got robbed for $205.00, and despite the book being returned, now they are only refunding $102.90. To put this in perspective, at a semester rental rate of approx. $35, I could have rented it for almost an entire year for the amount they kept. I have been in school a long while. I have used numerous book rental companies and have NEVER come across such an unscrupulous outfit. As of this post, I have not received the promised call from a supervisor. I can not urge you strongly enough to avoid giving this company your business. I have arrived at the conclusion that their rental price is cheaper than most as a loss leader to get your account information. Once they have that, they have you! Their intentions appear to be to sell you a used book at inflated new book prices after charging you the rental. At this point, I am out the $35.00 rental price, the $205.00 purchase price. I received a credit of $102.90.. So, I have spent a total of $137.05 for a used book rental that I no longer have, as I mailed it back in good faith. That's a pretty steep rental price for a used paperback. I will be posting to every customer review forum on the web, filing a formal complaint with the BBB, and making it my mission to expose this outfit for the crooks they are. Thank you.

Rented a textbook, the title Knetbook.com posted was "Physical Geology Across the American Landscape with Code COAST LEARNING SYSTEMS". Book arrived with no code and in poor condition. Book is highlighted and underlined. It has old book odor. The invoice is from eCampus.com. Obviously Knetbook.com is an affiliate to eCampus.com. When requested for a refund, I was told I will be charged for shipping and restocking fee. They claim, "We cannot guarantee that supplemental materials, like access codes, will be included with your rental. These supplements were probably used by the first owner and usually can’t be used again. The supplements are usually one-time use items, so that’s why we include the disclaimer on our site". I am not a young college student. Most young people and adults do not understand the disclaimer does not give the seller a free ticket to rip off consumers.
