Lighting Xchange Reviews

  • Apr 29, 2015

So, this package came to our business out of the blue one day (March 15 or 16) , containing 12 compact fluorescent bulbs manufactured by Eiko, accompanied by an invoice from LightingXChange, LLC in the amount of $584.90, dated Feb 13. This works out to $48.74 per bulb....needless to say, we were shocked: the same bulbs are available elsewhere for about $3/bulb when purchased in bulk (2 Doz or more). Nobody in our organization recalled ordering the bulbs or even speaking to a sales rep from lightingxchange. So, we called the toll-free number for this crooked company and got some weasel named Joe. He explained that the difference in price was due to the 120 month "no-questions asked" replacement guarantee.

Well, now, let's do a little math: if a CFL lasts for approx 3 years, we would spend about $9 dollars for bulbs over a 10 Year period. He said that our maintenance guy had ordered them personally by telephone. Highly unlikely, since he left our employ on the first of Feb. (AND, we don't have any retarded employees) I told Joe that we would be returning the bulbs and had no intention of paying his invoice. After some stubborn resistance, Joe relented and said he would give us an RMA for the product and a physical address to which we could send it.

We did so on March 24 at a cost to us of $25.53 for shipping. LightinXChange contined to send invoices and due notices to our AP dept. The product came back to us from the Post Office Marked "unclaimed" on Saturday, April 25. We called "Weasel Joe" on Tuesday, April 28 to advise him that we had done our bit, and that if his company wanted their bulbs back, we would ship them "postage due". He declined. We assume that ifLightingXchange does not want the merchandise and we have incurred postage costs nearly equivalent to the market value of the bulbs, they are pretty much ours to do with as we wish. Good luck to Joe and all his slimy co-workers. We hope you starve.
