Los Abrigados Resort & Spa Reviews

  • Oct 9, 2014

We purchased a one week one bedroom full kichen annually at Los Abrigados. Our first or second visit was on a holiday. We took our holiday meal with us to cook in the kitchen. When we arrived, it was not a one bedroom with a kitchen. It did have an elegant dining room table with 8 chairs with a bar refridgerator and a micorwave. Not the full kitchen we were shown at time of purchase. During a Christmas visit, we ended up with people outside both of the front and rear windows snapping picutres of their winter displays!!! Not a peaceful sancuatory. When we tried to give back the timeshare - they refused and would not let us out of our contract and the women on the phone snootily gave us a lecture that she obviously read from a script. Telling us how we were out of luck, would have to call in one year ahead of time to register for the room(s) we wanted and their would be more ees if we did not. And not to forget to pay our maintenance fee which continually goes up. We never used that timeshare again.

Currently looking for a lawyer to take over our case as we can not sell it for anywhere near what we paid for it. Even thoughwe were promised the price would go up annually on it's value. We found they have oversold the units. They even told us we couldn't sell it with out their prior permission because the peole who bought it from us would have to be "their" credit worthy. If it is our time share - why do we have to have their first right of refusal.

The rooms we were shown at time of purchase - where are they. We have never stayed in them, have never had anything anywhere near the niceness of them. We have only been in the one room and when asked to be given one we saw, they stated time after time, we would have to purchase more to get that room. A one bedroom suite annually is a one bedroom suite - not the dismal excuse for a Motel 6 room which actually offers more in their rooms than Los Abrigados.

In dealing with the persons on the phone and/or in person at the resort - we have been treated rudely, been asked to wait for over 1/2 an hour before anyone would see us to refer us to someone else. We finally got fed up from waiting over an hour to discuss our concerns and left. Twice. On the phone for reservations - they are rude and continue to read from a script instead of listening to what you have to say. I'd like to give them their "have a good day" back to them.

The "SCRIPT" as they so call it was given and not able to use at the times we visited their restaurants or their gift shops. Since their meals for two are well over the "script" we were given - plus they didn't even tell us that the reason they gave us the script was part of a lawsuit payment (this is way too funny), we of course signed for them and what a laugh on us.

We have paid this timeshare off in full. We now have a deed that is not worht more than a dollar and we can't even give the timeshare to someone else. We can't get our money back and we can't get back the time we never use at Los Abrigados because of their rules, regulations, staff, not willing to work wit you and so on, so any lawyer willing to take us on to accomplish a single suit against them for monies lost on what we paid and their promises at the time, feel free to contact myself or my husband. Thank you for listening.
