Luxury Cars of Lexington Reviews

  • Jun 21, 2014

I would like to inform you of an issue in which I had with a Used Car Dealership in Lexington, SC name Luxury Cars

of Lexington. I went over to Luxury Used Cars of Lexington and purchased a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. The sales

manager Tony said that the car was inspected over and all cars are inspected before the car come on their car lot,

this statement was a big decision in me purchasing the vehicle. Before I purchased the vehicle he said he was going

to get the middle console fixed, then when I went to pick up the vehicle, he told me he couldn’t fix it because it

would mess up things and I need to have it professionally done and he took off $500 of the down payment.

So after about a week I noticed the back door handles was coming off when you pull them, so I called Tony the

sales manager and told him this, he told me he would have one of his guys take a look at it, but he did not have

any onsite body technicians for his business. After going out their multiple times and not being able to get in touch

with them or his technicians who can fix the car I asked him when the handles can be fixed. He seems to keep

blowing me off.

So after noticing the door handles need fixed, I noticed the back passenger side window do not come down, so

after noticing this, I took the car to the Cadillac Dealership to have a 172 inspection done to ensure the safety of

the vehicle before my family rides in it. So after getting the 172 point inspection, numerous things turned up, like

the brakes need replacing and both motor mounts need to be replaced along with other issues which amounts to

around $4,000 worth of work needed for the vehicle. The vehicle was sold for the price of an excellent condition

model and year which it was not in excellent condition with all the work needed.

The next thing that I did was contact Tony the sales manager to tell him of all the issue in which the 172 point

inspection discovered, but he was not in his office and he seemed to be the only one who can talk to these

issues. After about 5 days of trying to get in contact which him, I had to have the financing company, Professional

Financial Services to contact him in which, they were finally able to track him down and setup up a time to talk

about the issues I had with the car.

Eventually I was finally able to sit down and talk about the issues with the Escalade, but he set in his office and

said he was not obligated to do anything for me and he will give me the number to his guys who can rate me for

what they charge him, so pretty much he was telling me I was on my on about getting the safety issue fixed for

the vehicle, so I told him he can just take the vehicle back because I only had it for two weeks and he then told me

he don’t do returns. And also Profession Financial Services, the finance company was telling me I was stuck with

the vehicle and I haven’t even made one payment yet and If I gave it to them, it would be like a repossession and

go against my credit. So now I’m going through other means to find a solution to this issue by writing to you and

searching for legal advice.

I feel like used car dealerships should not be able to do this to individuals who are making a large purchase, this

is unethical for you to make oral claims that you have did an inspection on your cars and you have not completed

a full inspection. No one should have to go through this type of issues. We need to have similar laws against used

car dealerships like other states that have recently passed laws against used car dealers who use unethical sales

practices.
