My brand new Mac after a week "Mackeeper" webpages came unexpectidly asking if wanted to clean up my compter files. A quick google search of this 3rd party application showed great promise and people warning against bad things from so much as cllicking on their home web page. Did not downdown the program. I did click on their pricing page.
In less than a day a small pop up in thr upper right corner asked if I wanted to scan my mac with mackeeper. This was not on a web page, so I knew something was installed on my mac.
Next day my cursor dissappeared fpr a while. This happened twice in less than 1/2 hour. Calling mac support, they did the share screen so the tech could see what was on my machine. In Safari my home page was changed to something thsat allowed ads. Changing brought up the mackeeper web page.
With the help of mac support a adware scan was done and "mackeeper" was deleted on my week old machine. Do not appreciate what mackeeper did, recommend anyone to avoid even looking at their website. I don't know if the cursor disappearence is related, but am turned off by getting unrequested programs installed on my mac.
Plenty of malware on my computer, my credit card info was stolen by this company.
my browser does not perform well, its full of add ons my computer seems like garbage, games keeping poping on, i uninstall 10 times mackeeper without sucess i hate them.
