Mattress Stop, Rowlett TX Reviews

  • Oct 13, 2014

Please be forewarned.... Casey Van Loon is still the owner of Mattress stop in Rowlett. I purchased a king mattress set, TV stand, pillows and sofa/love seat from him on Monday, Sept 22, 2014. One of the selling points was that he offers free delivery. Well let me tell you about my delivery experience.

The merchandise was scheduled to be delivered on Friday, Sept 26, but no one showed up. When I called Casey he gave me some story about giving his helper the afternoon off. He then told me he would be at my house at 9am on Saturday, Sept 27 but again he was a no show. He finally responded to my text and said he would be at my house at 3:15pm that afternoon.

He did arrive with a young man he said was his nephew. The two of them could barely carry the love seat into the house. He told me he didn't realize how heavy this set was and that he needed to get additional help.... he never came back or respond to my calls.

The next morning, Sunday, Sept 28 my husband called him. After offering a bunch of excuses as to why he didn't return the day before he said he would deliver the sofa and mattress set at 2:30pm.

At 2:15pm he showed up with two men who didn't speak English. He had hired them to deliver the sofa and mattress but didn't tell them he had promised to move my old sofa and mattress. While they were struggling to carry the sofa into the house Casey drove off in his truck. Once they finished moving my old sofa they took off.

Casey texts me and asks if they are still at my house, I tell him that they left. He then calls me and tells me they got mad and left because he hired them to deliver merchandize not move furniture. He neglected to tell them he had promised me he would move my old furniture.

He now says he'll have to place an add on Craig's list to find help. Angry but still wanting my mattress set, I text him to let him know I have two able bodied young men to help him move the mattress. He tells me he's picking up dinner for his kids but would meet us at the store at 5:30pm. Once again he's a now show and doesn't bother to call.

A couple house later he texts me and says his store manager Rudy will be calling me because his (Casey's) cell phone is dying. Rudy calls and tells my husband that Casey won't be able to deliver because he's out at the lake with his family.....I'm fuming now!!

He calls me apologizing and making more excuses. I tell him not to bother delivering the mattress and to come pick up the sofa/love seat. He continues to apologize and tells me he will have to call the furniture company, PFC, to schedule a pick up. He calls me the next day, Monday, Sept 29 and tells me PFC is scheduled to pick up the furniture on Thursday, Oct 2. Of course they never show up.

I immediately contacted my credit card company and am now disputing the charges. If you want to save yourself a lot of grief and would stay as far away from Mattress Stop and Casey Van Loon as you possibly can.
