McGraw-Hill Reviews

  • Dec 7, 2014

Back in1993 I wrote a book titled “Preventing Computer Fraud” a substantial part of the book was devoted to the Iran-Contra scandal that took place during the Reagan Presidency. Not an attack on Ronald Reagan as much as it documented illegal activities of those he trusted. I believe Ronald Reagan to be one of our best Presidents.

I interviewed FBI agents, MI6 agents, and even IRS agents. It would be MI6 that provided the most information on the government investigation of Iran-Contra. People that knew I was writing on the subject were tight lipped and afraid. I received death threats as did my editor at McGraw-Hill. I even found a hit man on my front door step one morning when going to get a newspaper.

Ultimately McGraw-Hill made little effort to market the book that I felt Americans should know about. What happens in Washington DC is one thing, what Americans are told is quite another.

When the book was released to the public I received about six thousand dollars. This included an advance and some royalties. That would be the last I heard from McGraw-Hill.

The original ISBN for “Preventing Computer Fraud” was ISBN 0070612005. This was a paperback book. Quite recently I discovered two other ISBN’s for the book they are ISBN-10 0079115454 and ISBN-13 978-0079115454. One ISBN refers to a Hardcover copy of the book.

In the intervening years since the book was “Preventing Computer Fraud” was first published in 1993 I have written articles that have been published all over the world. I have tried to write the truth and expose those that take advantage of others. I like to defend our American Democracy when I can.

Dear Dana,

You are right, we do see sales at our end before year 2003 and are cross checking to ensure payment wasn’t issued to you. Rajababu is on top of your request and will get back to you soon.

Please have the team member working on this contact me. I look for a quick resolution regarding this matter. Both my attorney and I look for a quick resolution in this matter, which we believe to be some kind of oversight on the part of McGraw Hill.

Thanks,

Dear Dana,

Regarding royalties for hardcover ISBN # 0079115454, this book was published in 1993. The sales were posted in that system and paid out. More than likely you paid for the royalties back in the early 1990’s, but I have no way of checking. Plus, if you are seeing the book on Amazon, you have already received the royalties for the sales.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Rajababu Merugu
