Terrible, awful, predatory business. Their sales reps over-promise and lie about their "great local service" to get you stuck. We canceled our account with them, which they gladly did when we could finally get ahold of someone, and they never mentioned a cancellation fee. The reason we even canceled our account was because we were being charged more than we were making every month. So clearly, we should have expected they would charge us hundreds in insane hidden fees to cancel our account. They claim to be a "local" business but somehow have rude and disrespectful representatives in other states to handle the flood of unhappy customers. The second you call them a liar because of all of their over-promising, they threaten you with their legal department. We are an extremely small business, and they never told us that we would have to make thousands in sales every month or we would incur their monthly "minimum" fees. If we would have been told that, we never would have signed up for their services!!! They run a shady business and we absolutely regret dealing with them. The proof is in all of their awful reviews. Business owners, run the other way!!!

Word of caution if you are going to process with Mercury using certain POS, I would not. I had numerous problems with Mercury and the credit card terminals they provided which kept disconnecting or "unpairing" as it was called. Caine Uhelnbrock, the sales rep, was so hot to obtain my business that he neglected to inform me of their cancellation fees. I had to provide a 30 day written notice to cancel my service or I would be charge a $295 fee for each account. I have three locations.

I did not keep working with Mercury as a processor because I could not process any credit cards. The terminals kept going offline so I couldn't wait 30 days losing business. One day, I had three customers in line, waiting to pay, and we could not process their cards because the Mercury terminals were down.

Mercury will not waive the fee because of breached the contract. Well, I feel Mercury in in breach of contract because I could not process any cards. I could not run my business.

I have been communicating with Vend about this matter and they are trying to assist me. I feel POS companies should not be using Mercury as their processor. The Mercury customer service is unprofessional, rude and uncooperative.

Mercury Payment Systems is stealing from me. I tried to close my merchant account and they keep taking my money. Since I stopped using the account, higher charges are being made under categories for penalties and non compliance. I was charged for not being PCI compliant when I am compliant. More investigation should be done to this company for fraud. I had to resort to contacting my financial institution to keep Mercury from stealing more money.
