I bought a phone from wirefly in July,2013 and bought a 1 year contract for device protection from Mobile Device Protection Association. I paid the annual fee of $99 for this protection. In April 2014, I dropped my phone and the screen cracked.
I have not been able to reach the company either by phone or email. When you call, there is a fast busy signal. I also reported this company to the better business bureau of Florida and they too were unable to reach this company.
When I did a search of the phone number, I saw this number belonged to another mobile protection company

This rather unpopular company is going out of business. It appears to me that it is a casualty of the Wirefly/Simplexity liquidation. I cannot find any evidence that they had other accounts outside of Wirefly/Simplexity. Too bad, I tried to get my phone's camera repaired before the 'protection plan' expired, but the business apparently expired first! I am wondering if there is any recourse for folks who have protection plans still in-force? Will they be filing a Chapter 7? What is the process? Will I get a coupon for 10c off a replacement cell phone? Ugh!
