Modest Needs Foundation Reviews

Scam

I applied for help with my situation. I am a 50 yo disabled woman who needed help with a small grant to relocate due to human trafficking.

Everything was good on my report until I was asked my income. I told them I make 666. per month in Social Security.

I was trned down because I did not make enough money.

I guess only people who already have money are the ones who need the grants and get them.

Editors UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to Modest Needs Foundation for its commitment to excellence in customer service.

Rip-off Reports discussions with Modest Needs Foundation have uncovered an ongoing commitment by the company to doing everything they can to help their clients and provide their donors with the best giving experience possible. This means that clients can expect that the organization will work towards finding a mutually satisfactory resolution to any issues or concerns their clients or donors may have. Modest Needs Foundation listens carefully to client concerns and sees them as an opportunity to become a better and more efficient charitable organization.

Modest Needs Foundation's President, Dr. Keith P. Taylor has informed Ripoff Report that his personal philosophy is that he is committed to doing everything he legally can to assist those clients who qualify to apply for assistance from Modest Needs and have accurately presented their situations to the organization/ As a successful social entrepreneur, Dr. Taylor feels it is critical to listen to the concerns of his applicants and respond properly. By always putting his the best interests of his legitimate applicants first, Dr. Taylor hopes to maintain Modest Needs Foundation as a successful and helpful resource for people in need of short-term emergency assistance both now and for many years to come.

Another top executive of the company told us that Dr. Taylor's personal philosophy is based on the premise that "small change makes a world of difference" and that Dr. Taylor practices this philosophy both in and out of the office. Modest Needs' mission statement says it all: "At Modest Needs, we work to prevent otherwise financially self-sufficeint individuals and families from entering the cycle of poverty, when this might be avoided with a small amount of well-timed financial assistance." Some of the other things Rip-off Report learned in the course of its investigation: typical customer feedback reads: God Bless You, Modest Needs, for helping us in our time of trial" and 'Thank you, Dr. Taylor, for proving that we all have the power to make a difference!"

Take a look at these stories featured about Modest Needs Foundation and the good work they do.

Modest Needs Foundation's Client Advocates have expressed that they not only love their jobs, they get a great deal of satisfaction out of helping Modest Needs' clients to find the help they need when no one else will listen. Forrest Mason, Director of Programs and no relation to Dr. Taylor, said "In all my years of working in the non-profit world, Modest Needs' Client Advocates are the most dedicated team of professionals I've ever seen. They stay late, work weekends, even holidays trying to find new and innovative ways to help our applicants. Dr. Taylor is such an inspiration to all of us. I've never seen anyone work so hard or so selflessly. He doesn't just 'talk the talk.' He 'walks the walk,' and I'm proud to work with him and the rest of our team doing what we do best every day: helping decent, hard-working people to make ends meet despite a short-term financial emergency."

Modest Needs Foundation recognizes that complaints posted on Rip-off Report (whether true or not) were generally posted by people who Modest Needs couldn't help and were angry, scared, or otherwise upset at the time that they posted, and that this fear sometimes leads people to mischaracterize their interaction with the organization. Modest Needs carefully investigates all complaints made by legitimate applicants who qualify to apply for one of our grants or by donors, and where they find that the issues found in a report have actually taken place, those issues are handled promptly by a senior staff member. With the feedback generated by Rip-off Reports Investigation Modest Needs Foundation has addressed all legitimate issues raised by any of its clients or donors and has reaffirmed its commitment to providing the best experience for donors and applicants of any non-profit operating today.

In summary, after our investigation, which included discussions with Dr. Keith P. Taylor and many of his past and current associates, Ripoff Report is convinced that Modest Needs Foundation is the best kind of charity, one where the people who work their believe in their mission and do everything they can to help others. We highly recommend Modest Needs Foundation to donors and applicants. If there is ever a problem, please email us about any member of our program. We dont expect a problem here.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT THE ONE REPORT THAT WAS FILED ABOUT MODEST NEEDS FOUNDATION: The author of the Report below contacts Rip-off Report, ..

As a matter of policy, when a business or non-profit becomes a member of the Corporate Advocacy Program they agree to allow Rip-off Report to contact every person who filed a complaint so they can address any legitimate issues that people filed a complaint have raised. In order to confirm that the applicant's issue was resolved, Rip-off Report emailed the author of all the reports about Modest Needs Foundation, and one of the authors responded back with the following update: .. I was angry when I wrote that post about Modest Needs. I was scared and didn't know what I was going to do, but Modest Needs didn't deserve for me to write the report that I wrote here because I was scared. None of what I said about Modest Needs in that report was true. They bent over backwards to help me, and I feel bad for having said such bad things about an organization that reached out to me in kindness. I apologize for everything I wrote; Modest Needs is the best-run charity I've ever seen..

Several video testimonials of previous clients were taken and can be viewed online on YouTube at the following LINKS...

Take a look at these many other News stories featured about Modest Needs Foundation and the good work they do...

In November 2009, for the first time in its (then) seven year history, Modest Needs began charging a VERY SMALL and FULLY REFUNDABLE application fee to new applicants. Modest Needs didn't charge this fee to make money (that's why the fee was refundable.) It charged this fee of $7.50 because the President of Modest Needs believed that people who were not telling the truth about their situations would never pay even a small amount of money if they knew they risked giving up that fee if Modest Needs' employees discovered and could prove that the applicant had not told the truth about his or her situation. The President's view was that by keeping insincere people from clogging up Modest Needs' system by requesting help they knew they weren't qualified to request in the first place, Modest Needs could direct all of its resources and staff towards helping the people who LEGITIMATELY needed help from Modest Needs, and who were telling the truth about their situations.

.. Ultimately, Modest Needs Foundation determined that charging this refundable fee had been a mistake. The application fee didn't help in all the ways that we'd have liked and raised questions about why Modest Needs charged a fee to apply for help, even a small, fully refundable fee. So, after a short trial period and in response to feedback from our legitimate applicants and donors, Modest Needs discontinued the application fee policy and will never implement such a policy again..

EDitors NOTE: This report was found to be false because Modest Needs did not request this person's social security number, did not run a credit check on this person, and did not take money from this person. Dr. Keith Taylor never sent the email attributed to him, and the testimonials on Modest Needs' website are authentic. There are over 9,000 of them in this link, http://www.modestneeds.org/features/testimonials all from people Modest Needs has helped, at http://www.modestneeds.org/features/testimonials The media interviews themselves at http://www.modestneeds.org/explore/media/ and this shows truthful, unrehearsed testimony... We all know, real testimony is hard to come by today and is usually not made up.

Modest Needs Foundation, Dr. Keith P. Taylor Scam Charity, Takes Money from needy people, Scam Organization, Dr. Keith P. Taylor President Scam Artist New York, New York

Modest Needs Foundation is a scam charity organization. They charge 7.00 to take your application to find out that they won't fund your application, instead they send you an updated e-mail every day explaining this.

As far as the people who donate money to help these applications, they simply take your money.

It is based on a point system, while your application is in pre-limonary status Dr Keith Taylor opens his pockets and he gets rich!!

Also, they take your personal ID Social Social Security Nimber in the application process which I just recently saw they preformed a CREDIT CHECK on me! Without telling me! I have a handicapped child applying for assistance, what did they need with my credit?

I contacted the organization and DR Keith Taylor keeps writing me back with nasty e-mails saying, " You seem intelligent enough to understand that strangers won't take time to try to help you."

You ought to be ashamed of yourself Modest Needs Foundation for taking innocent people's money and keeping it for yourself!! Especially in this economy and time of need.

And all of those testimonials are made up on their website I checked them out to.

If you are a victim call them or e-mail them and demand your money back!
