False Advertising – Carriers Are Not Properly Insured

I paid Montway Auto to transport a brand new 2015 Ford vehicle. When the vehicle was picked up no damage was present on the vehicle as indicated on the bill of lading. When the vehicle was delivered damage was observed on the vehicle and documented on the bill of lading. Montway Auto was contacted to start a damage claim.

Montway Auto instructed me to provide three repair estimates to repair the vehicle which I provided. Montway Auto informed me the carrier declined to pay for the damages. Montway Auto told me to file a claim with the carrier’s insurance company which I did. The carrier’s insurance company denied the claim since the carrier’s insurance policy does not cover damages to the vehicle. They sent me a denial claim letter confirming this.

I sent this information to Montway Auto. I asked Montway Auto to pay for the repairs and refund the amount paid to transport the vehicle. They said they will not pay to repair the vehicle nor refund the money paid to transport the vehicle. Montway Auto again said they would ask the carrier to pay for the repairs. They informed me the carrier would not pay for the damages.

On Montway Auto’s website it states, "You’re covered in any situation. Your vehicle is protected by the best insurance available – at no extra cost – and you get our 100% Money Back Guarantee.” Clearly this is not an accurate nor true statement.

Montway Auto will not refund any money nor pay to repair the vehicle.

Their advertising is misleading and untruthful! BE CAUTIOUS! Montway Auto DOES NOT use carriers that have adequate insurance to cover damages to your vehicle in an event your vehicle is damaged during transportation. They do not check to ensure their carriers have adequate insurance.

I have spent four months working with Montway Auto in an attempt to get the damages to my vehicle paid for/repaired. I have provided them everything they have asked for. To date I am no closer to resolving this issue with Montway Auto and getting my vehicle repaired. I would NOT recommend using Montway Auto to transport any vehicle unless you are willing to accept that if the vehicle arrives damaged you will be responsible to repair it.

Montway Auto will claim the insurance company denied the claim because the damage did not occur during transportation however they refuse to provide any formal documentation stating this. The bill of lading contradicts their statement as well. Additionally they claim they will refund some of the transportation fee however I have not received any refund.

I contracted with Montway to ship my classic convertible car. It was agreed the car would not be left in a storage yard, and would be delivered to my home on Thursday, and it would be damage free.

So Montway subcontracts my car shipping out to someone else, and there are problems. So who is responsible??? Turns out nobody, Montway blames KB; KB blames Montway. And I'm stuck in the middle with no help.

In a nutshell, my car was never delivered to me as promised. It sat outside in an unlocked storage lot. I'm told it "would have been delivered to me in a few days when they had time" however given the location the car was in, and that I did not want it sitting outside, I drove 2 hours to get it myself. To add insult to injury, I get the car back, and while checking underneath I find frame damage from where the car was strapped down. Damage was fresh (bare un-rusted metal showing), yet they say they didn't do it.

Very disappointing service and now I stuck with the repair bills plus all the inconvenience. You would think (hope) someone [Montway or KB} would take responsibility, but they didn't.

2 calls to Montway proved useless, then a return call from their claims department seemed promising, but in the end I was told over and over how Montway was not responsible (although I contracted with them) and to sign a waiver releasing them of liability. They just were concerned about covering their themselves rather than helping me out.

I would caution anyone using either of these companies.

Mike Mihaylov and Montway Auto Transport Ripped Me Off For $16,200

Mike Mihaylov, the CEO of Montway Auto Transport, engaged me to help him with overhauling the Montway website to rank in Google organic search for high value terms again since Mike or a previous Montway employee had done shady things in the past and got penalized by Google for them.

Mike Mihaylov's Horrible Employee Treatment and Deceit

Our agreement was for a flat monthly contracted rate to be split evenly and paid twice monthly by direct deposit from Montway to my account. I am not attaching specific numbers, strategy discussions, or other documents to ensure adherence to an NDA. If Mike and Montway release me from the NDA, I will be happy to share more specifics highlighting the company's egregious and deceptive behavior. After 3 weeks of work, I inquired about expected payment date and was told to submit an invoice, and obvious tactic by Mike Mihaylov to delay payment and continue to receive service.

I complied and submitted an invoice for the services that I had provided to date. The next morning, I attempted to log into the various systems that Mike Mihaylov had given me access to for Montway and found I had been stripped of access to all of them.

I emailed Mike Mihaylov directly to ask about the access issue and received no response. I messaged Mike Mihaylov over the following weeks to inquire into the status of the invoice multiple times and never once did he respond. I did not receive notice that the agreement Mike Mihaylov and I had place had terminated so I continued to provide the service that I had promised, but not the results back to Mike Mihaylov.

I have now informed Mike Mihaylov that I have discontinued work on the Montway Auto Transport site project and submitted the second invoice but have still never received a response from either Mike Mihaylov or any representative of Montway Auto Transport.

At this point, I am being forced to employ legal measures to recoup the thousands of dollars that Mike and Montway have agreed to pay but never lived up to.

If you are considering Mike Mihaylov or Montway Auto Transport as either a contract or full-time employer do so at your own risk!! There are many other reviews highlighting Mike Mihaylov's treatment of employees, including his horrible and unchecked temper and his policy of docking employee pay for mistakes, all over the internet. Look up Montway Auto Transport on sites like Glassdoor.com to see some of the reviews before you let what happened to me happen to you!!
