National Bankcard Monitor, LLC Reviews

  • Apr 1, 2015

In April of 2012, I negotiated a "contract" with NBM and paid $1498 via credit card over the telephone. I was told that there was a 14-day 100% guarantee of satisfaction and would receive a full refund if not totally satisfied. What was NOT explained, was that the 14-day guarantee STARTED on the day of the transaction. There was no way possible that this could ever be met, as it took the company a few days to get the materials to me, and several days for me to complete them. I unfortunately assumed that the 14 days would begin the day that I received the initial "payment plan" (which is very elementary and unprofessional, along with all the false promises).

I was sent a comprehensive package of paperwork which required very detailed information in addition to current copies of all credit reports, which I submitted as requested.

I received a package back from them with a payment plan that could have completed by an eighth grader. It iincluded nothing regarding lowered payments by obtaining lower-interest secured loans (obtained by NBM on my behalf), nor that I would "continually be transferred to lower-rate programs."

I called many times to obtain a refund. One representative told me that I had missed the 14-day period. After many, many calls which were unanswered, I finally got through to a person who said they were short staffed and were so swamped that they were opening new offices and frantically trying to hire new people. As promised on the phone, and in literature delivered, representatives were always available ... this was a "lifetime service" ... not just a one time deal.

I know I should have filed this complaint much sooner, but I have had over 7 surgeries in the past few years, I am now suffering major depressive disorder along with Fibromyalgia. While on disability (for a hip replacement) I just lost my job. My medical bills are killing me, and as of today, I no longer even have insurance. So ... I'm looking for any opportunity to obtain funds to pay my bills. $1498 is a significant amount of money for me to lose.
