National Tire and Battery Reviews

I recently took my 2009 Toyota Corolla in for a front end alignment because the front end started shimming when I got up yp 60 mph. NTB tech called back an hour after I dropped off the car and said I would need struts, brackets for the struts, front end alignment, and a complete brake job w/ rotors

I asked if this would stop the front end from shimming and he said yes. Several hours later I picked up the car and paid the bill which was just over $1400. I took the car up on the freeway and got it up to 60 mph. The front end was still shimming. I took it back and the store manager acted as if really didn't want to hear my complaint and so another tech came and talked to me.

He said he would have a mechanic look at it. hey came back and said it was the new tires I had just bought at Discount Tire. They said the tires were no good.

I took the car to Discount Tire several days later and they took all four wheels off, spin balanced them. and put them back on the car at no charge. Took the car on the freeway and it no longer is shimming at 60 mph. NTB not only sold me parts and services I didn't need, but treated me with disrespect when I came back.

It's very obvious NTB is not a facility that is certified to repair cars and their store managers are only interested in making commission and not customer satisfaction.

About 30 days ago I had the tires on my Mazda rotated at the St. Louis Park, MN National Tire and Battery store and left believing the car was safe to drive. What they failed to do was tighten the lug nuts down on both of the rear wheels. While driving I noticed a noise in the rear of the car getting louder and louder. I pulled over to discover the right rear wheel was about ready to fall off the car. After tightening the wheel back down and adding two new lug nuts I returned to the store the next day. The Manager, Scott Gamble, immediately denied the incident could happen. After he inspected the car he claimed a small amount of corrosion caused both of the rear wheels to almost fall off. Obviously this was an absurd statement and he would not take responsibility for his shops dangerously negligent work. He would not refund my money for the tire rotation and was confrontational the entire time. No apology was given and he could have cared less my two passengers and I could have been killed as a result of his shops work.
