DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!

They are a complete scam and provided nothing. What company does this? There are multiple complaints and if the company was legitimate they would offer a refund when absolutely nothing is provided. On a crooked person would keep the money. I tried disputing the charge and they contested it and won! All because they say it is in their terms of service. I'm getting the attorney general's office involved.

Robbed

Hi everyone

Yes like many I read lots of posts saying Neighborhood Hackers was a scam. I also saw how professional their website was and thought surely the US government would shut this down if it was.

I also so badly wanted the information that I weighed up the risk and thought I'll go for it.

I paid $25 consultation fee. I got assigned consultant Dan Torguson. Customer service was good. I was told it would take 14-21 days no guarantees. I paid the next $325 to start the case. Good communication from Dan via email for 14 days and then an email to say they had been successful.

I asked for proof in the form of a screenshot. They said this wasn't permitted.

I paid the top up $220 to get the password.

They sent me 2 passwords. One of which I provided them from the start when I explained this was the old password.

I asked for a refund on the top up payment. They said this would need to go through an investigation.

As you will guess I am still waiting and suspect that soon enough my emails to Dan will start to get no response.

I'm from the UK and have activated a dispute cls through my bank for these transactions. So I have my bank working on this on my behalf now. I'm holding hope on a $220 bank clawback.

I wanted so desperately for this to work that I didn't listen to my gut.

After reading that Neighborhood Hackers follow up all posts like this with a notice from 'Anita' saying send her your case and they will look into it further. Well Anita, I promise you I will retract this post and take all my scam accusations back if you either (1) deliver the service you said #2220 or (2) process my refund on the top up payment because you weren't successful when you emailed me to say you were.

To anybody considering their services I plead with you not to depart with your hard earned money.

They will not deliver, not give you proof, string you along on emails and you will be regretting not listening to your gut instinct.

Before they try and say I'm a competitor just slandering them. I'm not. I'm a 56 year old man from the UK who was desperate to get access to an email account to retrieve photos of a dead friend.

How to eliminate been screwed over

How to eliminate been screwed over. Nobody who sits behind a keyboard should be paid upfront. It's not like there a construction worker who needs to buy materials prior to doing work. Make it simple tell him you will not pay until they have access to email address, send the email address a personalized message and tell him to tell you what it says.

Obvious scam is....well, obvious.

" The standard fee for this service is $650 per account. The way it works is you put down a nonrefundable retainer of $400. This gets everything processed and your case to a tech. Once they have successfully completed the project, I will send a message to you. When you get this you pay the additional $250 and the password is yours. Estimated completion: 14 - 21 days"

I think its funny how I got charged 650, must be some March extra.

Well, think for yourself, if they tell you they will not refund the money why would you hire them? No honest service does NOT offer refunds specially when they can not give you a guarantee of cracking a password.

So if you invest in them, your loss, do your homework before you lose your money.

This company is a total scam

The project manager was nice and sincere in the beginning. He explained the details of the package and how they work. The company looked like a real deal at first. But things have gone downhill after the payment is made.

The company charged me the first phase of attempt $325.After a week, they want to upgrade me to a different package due to the complexity of my project. The project manage seemed to disappear from the face of the earth after the transaction was made.I have sent many emails to him.He didn't bother to take 5-10 minutes to write me back???

After 2-3 weeks, the manager finally got back to me.He told me he is working on my project. But there isn't any proof!!!!

They cut off contact after the transaction was made.

THEY NEED TO BE REPORTED TO THE STATES ATTORNEYS OFFICE

They'll stay in touch with you until sign a contract and make an intial payment that prevents you from reversing the charges with your bank. What they call an initial payment is 65% or more of the $1000+ total they required. that's not a deposit it's a scam!

After making your initial payment they will most likely will never contact you again. No matter how many times you email them they won't respond, but maybe once with an ambiguous comment like "they're working on it". that's after more than 4 weeks of no communication.

Let's face it we've been had. The only thing we can do now is go after their payment processor, internet domain name and hosting company.

Don't fall for it. Once they get your money you'll never hear from them again. I paid them over $750 dollars. Communication was great until they got the money. Then that's it! Total silence.

The only time you'll ever hear from them again, is when you call or email them to find out why you haven't heard from them. Then they'll give you all kinds of excuses or won't respond at all. Ignore my advice at your own peril! You've been warned! Just take your money and throw it in the fire. It's the same thing.

Scammers !!!

I totally agree.I wish that I had investigated the company and read the reviews before paying such a substantial amount of money for nothing.

I have paid a total of $418.86 Australian dollars. $29.92 for a supposed consultation fee and $388.94 for a service which was not provided.

My project commenced on 22nd November 2014 and I was finally advised on 4th January 2015 that it was UNSUCCESSFUL !!!!!!!!!!

Of course it was unsuccessful, however I trust that they had a substantial amount of money to spend at Christmas time !

DISGUSTING !

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.

Disgusting filthy Liars

Contacted them, very wary, was explained I could either buy the guide of 'how to', or pay a deposit. I questioned, is it different price for lets say a gmail to just the fb account. No reply. I paid the deposit, ($325) and was given a form to fill out, with any info I could provide on said target. Again, I still did not know what they were going to attempt gmail? or fb? On receipt of payment (a day later), I was informed 'they got in'... to pay the remainder cost (another $325). Of course red flags went up.. if they 'got in'... where was the proof? Wouldn't a clear screen shot have proved it? So this is where I struggled with my conscience. My head was red flagging, my heart.. wanting to believe so badly that I could get into target's social media, I went ahead and forwarded another payment. I received an email hours later with a password that in no way would my target have used. It seemed absurd. and I was given no indication on what it opened... and no reply. So I tried gmail/didnt work, I tried yahoo/didnt work, and I tried fb/didnt work... my heart sunk... just knowing what my head had warned me earlier was true. I contacted them and said 'its not working????", my case manager said 'we are trying again, hold on'.... ?? And there you have it folks.. now for the fun conclusion... I contacted them for WEEKS... requesting at least the 2nd payment refunded. Finally, I received an email letting me know that my case manager no longer worked there (oh... right...), and I will be given a new one. I received an email from my new case manager, saying, she will go through my case. To give her two weeks to sort it out.. I waited.. and waited.. and waited.. TWO MONTHS went by, with me writing daily asking how long did it take for someone to read through my emails with the last case manager, to figure out.. I was duped, and should get my money back. She never ever contacted me again. I contacted live chat for weeks, nothing. When I finally threatened, I got one email saying they will review me for a refund. Of course they came back to me saying some made up absolute crap and that I was not getting a refund. I have all the emails still. I even went to put in a bad review... only to find out, the guy who reviews them.. must work for them, as he went through my emails and sided with them, ie... I must have tried the wrong social media.. that is what they were trying to say.... after I attempted the password within seconds of them giving it to me... They tried to say it was for fb, but I had wrongly used it for yahoo... Let's just say it was a correct retrieved password (coff coff), had the target realised someone had got in, and been alerted, they would have CHANGED their password, and when I went to use the 'old' one.. it would have come up with THIS PASSWORD HAS RECENTLY BEEN CHANGED.... I told them, how do you explain that... never heard from them again.... Thank you for allowing me to finally review without being stifled. ps. this is the short version.. this was a six month ordeal.

About two weeks ago, i emailed someone named dan from the neighborhood hacker website. I needed a password retrieved and he said that the team would help and that i needed to pay $50 beforehand. Once the work is complete, i would have to pay $650. It took almost two weeks and i received an email saying that they have my report in the email, i would just have to pay the fee before. I ended up spending $700 to open a report that says attempts unsuccessful. I find this extremely unprofessional and their service is a huge scam. I am trying to find a way to get my money back but this is a warning for everyone out there not to use their services! they are a complete joke.

These people need to be in prison.

They stole $770 dollars from me. Once you pay, you'll never hear from them again. No return phone calls. No return emails. Just nothing. Finally....after not giving up, they respond with a one line email like "they were unsuccessful" or "they're working on it". The only service they provide is separating you with your money. It would be one thing if they truly tried and couldn't do the job they promised. But their complete lack of response to any phone calls or emails just goes to show that they aren't doing anything except stealing your money.

FRAUDULENT SERVICE!

no demonstration they are capable of delivering or have delivered any work on current or previous contracts. All communication is entirely anonymous.

they force you to sign a contract that prevents any charge backs with your bank. after you pay them you'll never hear back from them. This is not a joke. Lost more than $600 because of this. If anyone asks you to pay up front and does anything to prevent chargebacks then it's a scam.

here's proof of complaints for the last 2 years in addition to my own:

http://www.complaintboard.com/hackerforhirereview-com-neighborhoodhacker-com-complaints-l22125.html

they hire people in India without any verifiable skills for $150 or less

This is a valid review. I won't post any verifiable evidence to prevent them from harassing me across the net. This is now in the hands of the bank. If you have been defrauded then contact their payment processor, their registrar, their web hoster, and any other service they use to conduct business and tell them in clear and concise details what transpired and how you were defrauded.

They are unethical

They took $600 for a gmail password hack. They told me initially before receiving the payment that they are successul and once I made the payment the report indicated "Unsuccessful ( unable to penetrate account)". Just wondering why this guy Dan Torguson says he is happy to announce that the project has been completed successfully. Does he understand what it means to successfully complete this project ?. Very scary to see when you are in desperate need and you hire these hackers who turn to be complete scam and fraud.

I recently got scammed by them as well. Has anyone had any success through their bank on getting their money back? This is ridiculous. I should have stayed with my guy on this and not paid until I saw proof. But like others, was desperate. now I have been scammed out of $540 US!!!

It is not so typical of me to refer professionals online but I feel like I owe a lot to EVANS WEBROOT the certified hacker who helped me track my cheating fiance when he was having an affair, I got to find out that he has been lying to me for the past 7 months and seeing two other women. I was able to get direct access to his text messages, phone conversations and all social media accounts on his phone: what was most amazing was that his recently deleted messages were retrieved by this hacker. If you are getting less than you deserve in your relationship and want to be sure, please ensure u avoid scam. Webroothacker is the realest hacker online.

Cant figure out who is or isnt right.

I contacted them and their answer was:

"After a thorough assessment of your case, I regret to inform you that our tech team has surmised that they will not be able to satisfactorily achieve the objectives of your request. And for this, we will be unable to accept your case.

Thank you so much for your time and interest. We wish you well.

Thank you,

Dan Torguson

Neighborhood Hacker "

So they seem to be at least a little honest in my case. All i wanted to know more is if they couldnt because of lacking the skill or the job just isnt techincally possible, or almost impossible...

And this is what i wanted:

"Well what i want is to recover deleted facebook messages (sent and received), both the normal ones and the secret ones (using the secret message function on the facebook messenger app which makes them encrypted).

Is it possible to be done, how much would it cost me to do it?

Regards"

I got scammed by Dan too! Wanted to trust him so bad. Was excited to receive the completion report and turned out to be successful.

Can someone stop these guys please :( it's really bad to run business by scamming people like this. How are they still up and running? Can't Google ban them or something ?
