If you or someone you know recieves a phone call or letter from Conserve or New York State Higher education. Take the letter immediatly to your Local Police and to your State's Attorney General's office. It is a scam using your identifying information to garnish wages without a court hearing. Recently a number of MGM Resort employees were hit with phoney garnishments! That Corporation will not stop what they Know are illegal garnishments.
They use private postal boxes that are not part of the United States Postal Service. Taske the Scam letter to the Postal Inspectors and report it to Federal Trade Commission before they Illegally garnish wages or foreclose on your home. The bar codes on those letters of garnishment are false as well.
Next, be AWARE that they are listed as a charity. Even Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Education say they are Not even a Charity or a legal collection agency. That does not stop them and it's almost impossible to retaliate. Be very cautious about even talking to Conserve or New York State Higher Education Corporation.
