I was searching for a sewage company and this one was close to my house. They told me it was a straight forward job and gave me an estimate.
They came to the job and luckily, I am a contractor (but didn't tell them). They used pretty common scam tactics to try and display that my pipes were super clogged but they didn't even really start to try to unclog them. When I called them on their BS and let them know I was a contractor, the workers said they would "try something else." They actually began working and fixed it quite easily.
Their bill was more than double what their original estimate was and they threatened to report to my credit bureau if I didn't pay the whole thing. It was just over $1000, so I decided to just pay them instead of risking credit. However, they now get a vocal customer who will let others know about their tactics.
