An online vehicle shipping scam ad will offer a car, truck, motorcycle, RV, ATV, boat or any other kind of vehicle for sale - usually at a discounted sale price to attracl unsuspecting buyers. The sellers usually posts an email address or phone number in their ad, but sometimes uses the online service's own contact form.
If you make contact with one of these scam artists, you will receive some sort of story about a recent divorce, a need to move because of a new job, military staff or service person being deployed - or some other excuse like that. They will ask for your full name, email address if the contact is made by phone, full shipping address , home phone number and will offer to have the vehicle shipped to you using either Google Wallet, Ebay Motors, Ebillme, Amazon Payments or some other online payment service and will express that it is necessary for them to use the payment service to protect both you and them. They will arrange to have a PHONY/SPOOFED INVOICE from any of these payment services be sent to you and hope that you will send them a payment as per requested in the Fraudulent invoice. Usually that payment is either by Western Union [Ebillme], Money Gram or direct bank wire transfer. Please read the sample response at the bottom of this page. The invoices are never from any of the services advertised - if you know hoe to look at email headers, you will find some other email address that sometimes contains the words google, wallet, ebay, motor, amazon, vehicle, payments, etc. = all PHONY = SCAM!
