Answering a craigslist ad for a contemporary condo turned out to be quite an eye opener for us. We showed up on time to see the "MODEL" and waited 15 miniutes for the young, smug Yashira to show up. Absolutley beautiful is how I would describe the condo.
At this point we were head in and wanted this for our own so off I went to turn in the application. Upon arriving at the Padeals office I immediately became suspicious. The leaseing agent, Erb basically ignored me as the office looked like a scene out of the local welfare assistance office with people hanging all over the couch and others yelling in for the latest availability list. Speaking up and asking if I was in the right place got me a response and this is when i noticed a bit of a racial undertone. Erb told me she would make sure yashira will get the app and then muttered " I want nice black couples to get these units".
Waiting on the apps approval was timely and we were approved with conditions. Our credit is decent with one blemish I am in the middle of settling. Well this was all Yashira needed to move ahead, make an attemp to "bait n switch", then bilk us out of thousands.
Win Win for Padeals, let me tell ya. Deal was, take possession in two weeks, 2 full months security with a 200 dollar cat deposit and get this, 25.00 a month for CAT rent! Can you believe that , CAT RENT! Wanting the place we saw, I actually aggreed to this.
Off we go to see the rental unit we were to lease. Bait and switch here is an understatement! This unit was disgusting. The jacuzzi output water jets looked like a white childs unwiped behind, wallpaper hanging off , a shot, circa 1960's toaster oven hanging from under the cabinets that hasnt been cleaned since then. Upon asking if they were going to clean it up and paint it, I got a firm NO, and or Ill see what i can do without a promise.
Well, I told her that we were not interested in this lease and I make tracks for the office hopeing to speak with the founder/owner of the compajny to get my app fee back on the grounds she lied to me. Anyway Yashira was the only person there and she gave me my check back right away. I would have put a stop on it anyway!
In summery, I would like to say that my experience with Yashira and PAdeals was borderline illeagal if not fully illeagal. Last time i checked trying to racially bend the market in a direction is illeagal. Bait and switch is illeagal. Bilking customers is illegal....................THIS IS MY RIPOFF REPORT...............
