Patrick Beal Reviews

I have been looking for someone to install my new vessel sink. I have been waiting and my guest has not had a sink in her bathroom for about a month. I have 2 jobs and don't have the time to do research and growing impatient. So I looked around on craigslist. Wait, I know what you are thinking, you're thinking what the hell was she thinking. This is where I found a plumber that truly is an honest man and takes pride in his work. But Patrick Beals is a crook. He contacted me and said 300 for the installation of the vanity and backsplash. He came over with his assistant (brother) and quoted me another 200. But he said don't worry everything will be done by the end of the day. I know it was too much for the little job but I just wanted the sink installed. I insisted he watch the video on how to install a vessel sink because I know its not the same installation as a regular sink. He kept insisting that he knows how to install this sink and kept handing my phone back (where the video instruction is kept).Anyway I agreed to the 500 because he said it will be done today. I had leftover tiles from my flooring and he said he can use that same tile as the backsplash. I asked if it would look ""stupid""? And he reassured me that it will match my flooring and it will look great. I had to run to get myself something to eat while he and his brother worked. While I was out, I called him and told him I will run to home depot to get the backsplash I want. He said don't bother because it will look nice with my flooring. I got home and he installed the vessel sink as if it was obe whole piece. In the video, it clearly shows that the bowl and trap are the last to be installed. I knew something was wrong then. I asked isn't the sink suppose to go last?. He answered no everything is suppose to be installed all at the same time and just hook it up to the water line. I had to leave and left the payment to my boyfriend and asked him to pay Patrick if everything is done and working fine. That was another wrong move for me. You can't trust men to be a judge of home improvements unless its what they do for a living. I got home around 10pm and I was upset!!! I was so upset that I couldn't even sleep that night. My tub was left a mess, the wall texture did not match at all, there was still a hole by the pipe which goes behind the wall, the patch or seal that was used for the old vanity was still there, the tailpipe is dented and damage. And worst of all, it was leaking. It was just plain horrible. It looks like I did the job myself! So I contacted him and demanded he comes the next day and fix it. He agreed at first but the next day tried to cancel because of an ""appointment"". I said I too have an appointment which I had to cancel because I know I can't trust my boyfriend to watch him while he worked. He arrived with a friend of him and I demanded he takes everything apart and start over. He blamed that someone must have splashed water over the wall texture and moved the sink around because when he left everything was ""Set and drying"".

I was upset that he would even say that. So he went to home depot and bought another can of wall texture. The wall looks a little better; nothing a backsplash and paint can't cover. But it still does not look like a professional did it. I asked him to come another day when the new parts arrive because the pipes were dented and damage. He agreed and we scheduled for him to come over a week later. The night before, I asked him to arrive around 9am because I have to run errands. I contacted and asked for him to come in at noon because I had a little more things needed done before I can come home. He left a voicemail stating he was still sleep around 1225 because he was in the ""ER with his daughter"". So I agreed to reschedule again to this coming Saturday. He agreed but I'm afraid he will cancel again.

Lesson: Do your research and wait for the right person who knows what they are doing. Do not rush. Do not trust another person to pay for a job you want done without your approval. Do not hire Patrick Beal!!!!
