PC Care 247 Inc. Reviews

  • May 22, 2015

About 4 months ago, I had a company call me from a private number. They stated that they were with Microsoft and they were getting reports from my computer that it is sending out viruses and trojans to companies all over the world.

They told me that my computer was hacked and that they could help me get my computer back to where no one could hack it. They offered me a license for $400 to 3 different software programs along with tech support. They said I would pay one flat price and I would keep their services for as long as I owned my computer.

They also stated that if I had other computers in the house that I could add them to my license and they would be covered for the same price. I didn't know this company was a scammer, so I paid the $400 and they told me to go to www.logmein123.com. I went to the address they told me and they told me to enter certain numbers and letters into the boxes on the screen.

At this time, I realized they were remotely accessing my computer. I was told once they gained access to my computer that they would be able to add all the software onto my computer along with an icon that I could click on if I needed help with my computer. I sat here at my computer and watched everywhere they were going.

As soon as I seen that they were accessing areas that they shouldn't of been in, I asked them on the phone why they were going into those areas. They replied that they were scanning these areas to make sure that there was no virus or trojans attached to anything in these areas. Then they started going into areas that I didn't even realize existed on my computer. I asked again why and they said that it was important they access these areas so they could make sure my computer was completely secured.

After 2 hours of them going through my computer, they proceeded to add Malwarebytes Anti-malware, CCleaner, and ATF Cleaner to my computer. They also added an icon that looked like a phone in a blue square and it was labeled as "Get Help Now". From that point, I realized that the Malwarebytes, CCleaner, and ATF Cleaner were trial versions. I asked them on the phone why they were trial versions, and they stated that they had to download the trial versions first and then put in the codes for the license versions.

I never received the license versions and as soon as they finished adding the icons, they hung up the phone after telling me my computer was completely secured and that if I have any problems to hit the "Get Help Now" icon.

Three days later, my computer completely froze up and I couldn't do nothing with it. I had to contact them from my laptop just to get them to unfreeze my computer. That is when I found out that the Get Help Now icon didn't work and I was scammed. I had to contact the actual Microsoft company to get my desktop computer fixed. That is when Microsoft informed me that they were not affiliated with 24 7 PC Care and that they were actually a scam.

Please, if you have any company call you and tell you that your computer is sending out warnings or errors or virus or trojans, please hang up on them immediately and call Microsoft to ask them for a free analysis on your computer. Don't fall for the scam like I did as loose $400 that I could of used on my bills and my 2 kids. I am a single mother that works hard to raise my kids and $400 is alot of money for me to dish out. Don't get scammed like I did. Hang up on them and call Microsoft. You will save yourself alot of money and stress.
