Zero stars for Perillo BMW.

I have dealt with many car dealers, and Perillo BMW by far delivered the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

They have consistently provided such sub-par products and services that I will never lease or purchase another vehicle from this dealer.

I leased a 2012 X3 from Perillo, and, after just 16K miles of normal driving, the run-flat tires were completely shredded. BMW and Perillo agreed that the tires were of inferior quality and replaced them at no charge.

Unfortunately, they put the same run-flat tires on the car. After less than 12,000 additional miles, these tires were also completely destroyed, leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere. BMW advised me to drive the car with the run-flat tires directly to the dealer for replacement. When I finally got the car back to the dealership, Perillo's service technician told me there was no way those tires should be completely worn after less than 12K miles.

This time, however, Perillo seemed reluctant to absorb the price of what was clearly bad tires and demanded I pay $2,300 for another set of the same tires. The owner stated that the extreme tire wear was my own fault, despite having no information. Now understand that I have been driving for more than 40 years, am a conservative drive, log very average miles, never take the vehicle off road, etc. I've never experienced this kind of tire wear in all my years.

The issue is clearly with the tires. When I pressed this issue with the dealer, the owner sent me a nasty letter confirming they will not be accountable for the inferior product and would charge me an additional fee for the time they kept the vehicle. He then directed me to his attorney for any future communications.

After pressing the issue, I finally agreed to purchase a new set of tires just to be done with it. The dealer, however, clearly wanted to avoid the issue of bad tires and announced he would no longer replace the tires and demanded I have it towed the next morning to another dealer. He again referred me to his attorney. Please note Perillo is Chicago's only BMW dealer; the only others are in distant suburbs.

BMW corporate offered to provide tires at a slight discount, but refused to intervene and ensure the dealer fixed my vehicle. By this time, the dealer had held my vehicle for more than a week, forcing me to incur the costs of a rental.

So I'm stuck paying for another set of tires, and the lease terms mandate I replace them with yet another set of sub-par run-flats.

This is just the latest in a string of bad experiences I have had with this dealer.

Their service department, for example, requires nothing less than 45 minutes to retrieve your vehicle when you arrive at the appointed time, and they usually bring down the wrong car. At the same time, their service reps spend more time convincing me to give them a good survey rating than they do actually taking care of our vehicle.

Overall, it has just been a horrible experience. The dealer never let me know at the time of the lease that the vehicle would require three or more sets of tires over the life of the three-year lease, presumably due to the profit to be made. Once the issue of bad tires is raised, he washed his hands of the whole thing.

Do not do business with Perillo BMW under any circumstances. It is my opinion their only concern is making a profit at the expense of their customers.

UPDATE: These thugs apparently don't like my review, so they have refused to put tires on the car at all.

Do not do business with Perillo BMW.
