Planearts update

Since my last writings above (which were posted on another Website and somehow found its way here) I wish to post an update which may reflect the latest situation.

After alot of communication between myself and the owner of Planearts, he was kind enough not only to rectify the situation but also make one new model which I have received. The quality is as good if not better than the previous models that I have ordered through Planearts which sit proudly in my office.

It was very disappointing when I received the original models and his response to my concerns however, as time went by I now understand that he acknowledged these concerns and worked towards rectifying them.

In short, based on the previous models that I have received from Planearts in the past as well as the latest arrival, I would definitely ask anyone that is considering getting a model made to consider Planearts!

Customer appreciation

I am so delighted that we were finally able to satisfy the customer and that he had the courtesy and kindness to appreciate our efforts.

Like the buyer I am also surprised how his comments found his way onto a site that he did not post on.

I ordered 3 aircraft models, 2 were the same and 1 of a different type as gifts for friends. i had bought 6 models approx 5 years ago which were made quite well at the time.

The 3 models were delivered a few days ago. On opening the carton, I couldn't believe my eyes. The Pitot tubes ( 4 small tubes at the nose of the aircraft which should point forward) on 2 of the models were pointing directly up. There was paint that had chipped off various antennas as well. I compared the overall paint and finishing quality to previous models I have.. I couldn't believe it the quality...absolutely terrible.

I immediately contacted them and sent photos of the damage. The owner contacted me and said that I can send the models back to them but I would have to pay for the freight charges as specified under thier terms and conditions. Obviously it did not make sense that I should borne the freight costs as they would be almost the same cost that I paid for the models. He was willing to hide behind these T and C's and risk industry reputation than just accept the charges himself.

He went on to suggest I bend these tubes back into their correct positions myself. 1 snapped off, as I thought it would as well as cracking paint around the base of them. He also suggested that I go to a hobby shop and buy paint and touch up all the paintwork myself......good luck trying to match the paint !! The overall finishing quality on all of them is terrible and to think that I will give them as gifts.

My advise to anyone considering using Planearts (or Modelbuffs as they are also known) is to stay totally away from them. There are better companies that can make better models or replicas.

Please feel free to Personal Message me for further information. I am also happy to send photos of my models so you can see the quality of their work!
