Think you are getting brand-name clothes for a cheap price? Think again! I was shopping at this particular store, and I decided to purchase a pair of shoes. No longer than a half an hour later, I decided to return them.
Upon my arrival at the store, I was informed that customers cannot return shoes, along with certain other items. Nowhere in the store or on my reciept was this policy indicated. I was also not informed of this policy by any employees, especially the employee who had checked out my items earlier that day.
Due to my inability to return the shoes, I offered to sell the shoes back to the store, like many other customers do on a daily basis. While the employee and I both came to an agreement that I would not recieve a full refund for the shoes, I still expected to get a portion of my money back.
After several minutes of deliberation among the employees, I was offered $4.30 for the shoes. I had purchased the shoes for $15.00 earlier that day. I was appalled that the store would attempt to make a $10.70 profit off of a pair of used shoes!
After being told I would not recieve any more money for the shoes, I decided to keep them. However, I was able to experience firsthand how this company runs its business. I can see now that the clothes customers bring in are virtually worthless to the store, but they use the brand names to their advantage to sell the clothes at a "cheaper" price than what they would normally cost.
I complained to the store, and I will never buy or sell anything to any Platos Closet stores ever again!
Due to the unethical practices that keep this business running, I suggest to everyone not to sell their clothes to Platos Closet. You are not getting as good of a deal as you think you are!
