The worst service ever in my life . We bought the extended warranty and it was all for nothing my hot tub has been broken for three months . Wish it let me give 0 star rating...

I hate this company.... Our heater gave out last winter when it was -40 and even with a portable heater inside of it the tub still froze because polar spas refused to get back to us. When they finally did (2 months later and 30 minutes after posting a bad review on yelp), they said the tubes weren't covered because it froze (which would not have happened had they gotten back to us sooner)... So we had someone come in to fix it and we paid out of pocket.

This winter the tub is frequently overheating and shutting off (the tub is 112 degrees right now). We put in a service request on Oct 6th. They keep giving us the run around, saying the part will be in in a few days and then they'll have some come install it. When we contacted them via email on Dec. 17th (because their phones were disconnected) and they refused to admit we put in the claim in October, saying it's only been just short of a week even though the email thread is clearly dated well before that.

It's to the point where we just want to say screw them and pay for the parts and service ourselves but at the same time, we'd like them to honour their warranty. So frustrating.

AWFUL

AWFUL!!! My husband purchased and paid in FULL for a tanning bed April 23, 2014. It is now September 15, 2014 and still NO tanning bed. After reading some of the other posts I realize that Chris Shaw, the Sales MANAGER is a liar! How this company has managed to stay in business is unimaginable! They do not answer calls, return messages, or respond to emails. I have filed 2 complaints and will wait to see what happens. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never had such a terrible experience before. Not only does Chris Shaw NOT PROPERLY MANAGE HIS BUSINESS BUT HE WAS THE ONE WHO ACTUALLY MADE THE SALE!!!! Nothing is more frustrating then trying to deal with a complete moron, not to mention a liar!

PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM POLAR SPAS OR CHRIS SHAW. I DON'T WANT YOU TO BE RIPPED OFF LIKE I HAVE BEEN. Want more information? I will let my Letter of Demand speak for itself (see below). Needless to say, Chris Shaw did NOTHING after having received this letter and I have now filed a civil suit against Polar Spas.

Dear Mr Shaw, On May 15, 2013 I purchased an American Patriot hot tub from one of your sales representatives at a hot tub show in Okotoks, Alberta. I paid for the tub in full on that day and was told the tub was in stock and ready to be delivered. When I contacted one of your representatives to have the tub delivered, she told me that the tub had been damaged and she did not recommend having it repaired. She told me the best way to get a good quality tub would be for Polar Spas to re-order one from the manufacturer. She said it would take approximately 8 weeks for delivery. I reluctantly agreed to this because I saw no other way to get a quality tub. That was more than 6 months ago. Since then I have been constantly contacting you via text and phone trying to get a firm delivery date. In mid February, you told me it would be early March.

In early March, you told me it would be late March. In late March, you told me it would be April. When I had finally had enough, you and I had a telephone conversation where we verbally agreed that you would deliver a different model tub of comparable size and features, and that you would have new paperwork to me the next day. We agreed on a make and model and you told me the tub was in stock in Edmonton. When that paperwork did not arrive as promised, I contacted you and you told me that you had sold the tub that weekend and there were no more tubs in stock of similar size and features. Then you had me sign another agreement back dated to November 2013, promising that the re-ordered tub would be here soon. I have both copies of the agreements, including the original receipt. I have been constantly trying to contact you over the past few weeks, and you are unable to provide me with a firm delivery date yet again.

I am writing to advise you that I am demanding a full refund. If I do not receive a certified bank cheque payable to myself for the full amount sent via Express Post to my home address by Friday, April 9, I will instruct my solicitor to issue proceedings against you, to recover the money I paid along with my legal costs. I also reserve the right to claim further damages given the amount of time and money that I have spent trying to resolve this situation.

Purchased a $10,000.00 hot tub from Chris Shaw at the home and garden show in March 2010. This 'trident series' hot tub has been nothing but problems right from the start. In 4 yrs that We've had this piece of garbage, we've used it less then 10 times. It's always broken down!!!!! Chris Shaw does not return phone calls regarding problems with his product.

This past winter I didn't want to have to deal with it all winter because one pump wasnt working and it was leaking... AGAIN!

We went down to their location on the northwest end, which was closer to us, and the sign on the window said ""we've moved to serve you better"". They didn't ""MOVE"".... they just closed down the north store. So how does it serve me better to now have to travel from the northeast end of the city to the very southwest end!!?? Obviously if people are stopping by the north location it's more convenient for them.

The reason we travelled directly TO the store was so that they could show us on the show room model how to winterize this useless hot tub. And we were not rude in away way.

The ""Product Specialist"", Caine Smith, told us that they didn't do well with the Trident Series hot tub and have discontinued it. (Well what a surprise!!!!!) He told us he didn't want to tell us how to winterize the tub because he wasn't sure and didn't want to give the wrong information. He told us he would get Chris Shaw to call and tell us how to do it. YEAH RIGHT!

Chris Shaw himself is a big part of the problem! We never did heard from him! Not that we even expected to! We attempted to winterize it ourselves. Couldn't even say if we were successful or not because there's still a problem with the pump and it still leaks, which is why we wanted to winterize in first place.

So there sits a $10,000.00 totally useless product .... from a totally useless company!!! Thanks for nothing Polar Spas and Chris Shaw!

If they would call me and offer to buy this hot tub back for even HALF of what we paid for it, just to get it out of the yard, I would be SO happy! It's been a total nightmare having this hot tub! I hate it with a passion!! I hate looking at it!

We've told them this at Polar Spas and, I think the guys name was Jim at the north store, was totally rude and ignorant to us.

If anyone mentions to me that they, or someone they know, wants to buy a hot tub... guess where I tell them NOT to go?
