PRB Public Relations Reviews

Piera Rossi Blodwell, who owns and runs PRB, is a horrible, lying person who has one of the smoothest fraud/scam operations I have ever seen in the entertainment industry. She preys on young hungry hard working designers by offering them "PR" valued at thousands of dollars a month. She throws around her one article in italian vogue from a decade ago and uses flattery to lure her victims in. She talks about how many stylists come in to pull for magazines and celebrities and charms people into signing with her. BUT the truth is she doesn't do PR. In fact, her company is a RENTAL company charging rental fees for nearly everything that goes out to the highest bidder with no regard for the PR benefit for the designer. This fact is left out of any initial conversations with designers (not to mention the contracts) and no revenue from these rental fees are shared with the designers. So, she makes great "deals" with designers, offering to do their "PR" for nearly free because she "believes" in them, then rents out the designs to whomever will pay. She offered us 200 per month plus two of our designs in trade per month. It seemed to good to be true and it definitely was.

She told us not to mention this to her "high paying" clients (if she even has any) who were paying her between 1200 and 4000 per month. I pity anyone who is paying her that much money when all she does is rent out the designs to the highest bidder.

My beloved designs I worked so hard to make ended up trashed and ruined with barely any reputable press to show for it. Furthermore, her contract states that she will get stylists to cover hard damages by running credit cards, but it does not say that if the stylist who ruined the piece is of high caliber she will do everything she can to avoid charging them to preserve her relationship with the stylist (this also happened to us. A stylist literally cut open a jacket and altered it beyond repair. No, we never got compensated for the damages.

Soon after I had discovered she had been renting out my collection, she called me to let me know she "had" to raise our rates to 500. So I asked her why she needed to do this since she was renting out our collection and obviously making good money. She told me she had "never rented our collection" ever. Bold faced lie. We have emails from her assistant stating that they rent out to anyone who is not pulling for A-list celebrities. Then, later, she said she only rented out the samples that we promised her in trade for her "services". another lie. Finally, she admitted that she would never work for only 200 per month and that of course she rents out the designs. That would have been a very good thing to tell me upfront and put in our contract.

She still has thousands of dollars worth of our designs she refuses to give back with some still being rented out on ridiculous dance shows being torn to shreds and she cashes in. It was all a scam and now, as a designer, I am suffering. Our loss is more than damage to the clothes its also the opportunity loss of our collection going to high paying rentals instead of being put on celebrities and losing thousands of dollars worth of samples she has yet to give back.

I hope by writing this and bringing this to light I can prevent other designers from being taken advantage of. if you are considering working with PRB, run away as fast as you can. Do not give her your money, do not hire her for PR and do not trust anything she says.
