Priceline Reviews

I was looking for a modest good 2 star hotel at Holywood location on ther website through Express Deal match. After booking and paying my non-refundable fee to get exact hotel name and location revealed it turned out to be a dud. Its on edge of Holywood area, more in Silver Lake neighborhood than Holywood, in rough neighborhood.

I later was able to find another 2 star hotel with better reviews, in better part of the neighborhood for much less at standard rate refundable rate than what I got with Priceline. I contacted customer service and they refused to even match price, because it was a different hotel. It did not matter this hotel with this price was even on their website with the same Priceline star rating at standard refundable rate. They are not help at all- they just read their script.

I will never use Priceline again. Do yourself a favor and use Hotwire instead. Their Secret Hotel Deal similar to Priceline Express bidding is more specific and fair at restricting mystery search match based on geophrahic location. At least they make clear distinction between Holywood and East Holywood/Echo Lake area while Priceline's Holywood stretches to Echo Lake neighborhood that is farther away and more sketchy.

Used the priceline ""name your price"" feature for booking a hotel room.

i did not know the hotel was charging the resort fee because priceline hides the hotel from me until the reservation was confirmed.

Once the reservation is confirmed, it cannot be cancelled. The hotel could charge any arbitrary fee and get away with it when they use priceline.Priceline should show the total cost before confirming the reservation, so that the customer can choose to not use the feature and go to the hotel directly to book his room.

I used the Name Your Own Price tool and input $130 for a hotel in Los Angeles. I received a 3.5 star in the area of my choice and then looked up the hotel Priceline chose for me. To my horror there is a parking fee of $24 per day at this hotel, and no other free options for overnight parking in the area (Universal City). I called priceline to complain that my $130 night just became $175 a night thanks to taxes and the mandatory parking fee at the hotel. They wouldn't budge, compromise, or refund. I explained this hotel was officially out of my budget for the trip and I should have been given an option to select a hotel with free parking before I made my non-refundable purchase. How is there not a class action lawsuit against this company??
