Protect Your Home Reviews

We had Protect Your Home install a system in our home. The install fee was $105 tax included. We set this up via ACH and Protect Your Home debited our account twice, which resulted in an overdraft. It has taken me 4 hours of phone calls, 2 faxes, raising complete hell, to get my money back that they took from me - AFTER I provided them with information on December 18th of their error and I'm told that a credit will be processed on December 31, 2014. Explain to me how I have to wait for THEIR error, that they have confirmed, been provided proof but still hangs on to my money. I have spoken with David in Billing, Paul a customer service manager, I have Sherry Hill as the Billing Manager name, BUT can't contact her directly - but I was told by David that I could fax her a letter?!?!?!?!?!? And, my complaint has been sent to their escalations team. I asked what does that do for me exactly .... David's answer and I quote "I can't tell you how they will help you, they will have to do that". So, let me understand, YOU take money from me, YOU make me jump through hoops of phone calls and faxes to PROVE you took MY money that DIDN'T belong to you, I have had to WAIT for (at this point) 11 days for a refund that I have YET to receive, you REQUIRE that I send in MORE paperwork showing that you TOOK money from me and I am not supposed to be angry - I need to calm down and wait until accounting decides to refund me my money?!?!?! I asked him if he expected to wait for 10-30 days to receive his paycheck via Direct Deposit - ACH, same process, right? Of course, he answers he doesn't wait.

NOW, are you sitting down, I am given a certficiate for $50 visa gift card to compensate me for my troubles - BUT, I have to pay $4.95 to get it! I have to mail in the certificate with first page of my contract and a $4.95 money order to get my gift card to compensate me for my time!

I have no idea if this will ever be resolved correctly, but you bet your sweet goodness that I will be putting this complaint on every consumer site that I can find.

Bought a House. Called ADT to continue service that was already in the house until our security team could arrive. Called ADT number on Website. Person answered-noisy on other end- I asked "Is this ADT"- they said "Of course it is- who did you think you wre calling?" First Clue- should have hung up. Scheduled an appt. for next day for ADT to come out and turn the system back on until ouur security team arrived. Tech shows up with ADT shirt on, shows no badge and the car has no ADT logo on it. Tech spends hours reviewing our home system to give us an estimate-but all we wanted was for the current system to be hooked back up. Tells us we need special sensors and the price will be $2500 in 4 installments. THATS TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. I told him to get out of our house immediately. The tech would not budge. My fiance was trying amicably to get him out. I then told the tech- maybe I will think about it and research it for a few days, thinking that would get him to leave. He told me "I'll wait right here till you decide. I have to call my boss", Then he said "I'll just start installing the new system". I told him NO YOU WILL NOT. PLEASE LEAVE. He then dissappeared in the back of our home, would not come out. I called ADT Corporate and they said get the guy outa your house and call 911. By this time, I am realizing- I don't know how many guys this guy could have with him. So I get my fiance to keep him distracted, I arm myself and do a sweep of the house. We get him out of the house and it takes him another hour to get out of our community. Within 30 minutes of him leaving, a charge from some company called Defender Security shows up on our CC. We alerted our CC and they stopped the card, the charge. WE pit alerts on our bank account and credit. The FBI has been alerted, The Atty. General of Arizona has been Alerted, Local PD has been alerted and Fox News has been alerted. We have a private security company on site as well as other state of the art security. We've heard these guys come back and do B&E's, rob, steal your identity, etc. Our security firm is tracking this guy down right now. RUN TECH, RUN. Because, honestly, you messed with the wrong family. Scam somewhere else.

Protect Your Home used False Representation and down right lied about services. We thought, because we live in a rural area that ADT corporate didn't cover us and only Protect Your Home as an authorized ADT dealer were it. Searching on the Internet, they were the only ones that came up using local search.

After Michael Wexler, a sales supervisor at Protect Your Home gave us his best deal, he pressured us to give him $99 to secure our deal. I asked what if we decide to cancel before installation and he stated that we could easily request a refund and that the refund would happen within hours of the request.

They (Protect Your Home) claimed to be ADT and that their agents and techs were all ADT, but they are only an authorized ADT dealer and even ADT does't use their equipment because they cannot support or warranty it (told to me by a 26 year ADT vet).

Protect Your Home said that they used only ADT equipment, that it is warranteed for life by ADT and that their techs are ADT employees with ADT badges. LIES!!!! Their techs are anyone they can hire with no background checks. A documented example from a former customer, one guy had his house ripped off after a Protect Your Home tech setup their new alarm but didn't hook it into monitoring and had his buddies rob the place the next day.

ADT does not give life-time warranties like Protect Your Home stated.

We ended up paying them $106.80 to keep our deal and initiate an install, but stopped it after learning more about them from other peoples experiences with them. I called to stop the process and asked for Michael Wexler, but got Eric Huebner, supposed sales mgr on 8-29-14 @ 9:35am. I reqested to cancel the scheduled installation and receive a refund. I asked how long will it take for him to process the refund and he said that he just processed it. That we should have our monies as soon as the bank accepts the credit.

A week goes by, no credit shown pending on our bank statement, so we called our bank and they said there is no pending credit from Protect Your Home. On 9-4-14, I called Protect Your Home and spoke to Customer Service, they said that our account shows no credit pending. Eric Huebner directly lied to me when he said he processed the credit and that we were all set. I am still waiting to verify whether or not we get our monies back, but from what I've read, we probably won't get them.

STAY AWAY from them. They are liers and theives.
