I worked at Rack Room Shoes at the outlet mall on Collier blvd. under the reign of fat, grouchy, chauvanistic larry. it struck me as strange for a while that i was the only male working in the store besides despicable larry but i soon figured out why that was.
lawrence enjoys having women work uder him and be subordinate to him. It angered lawrence to have a young strong college student in his territory. This is why when I asked 3 weeks in advance for time off (3 days) for my 97 year old grandmothers funeral, he denied me the days off with the excuse that someone had already claimed those days off. First of all this is the problem with having an understaffed store. secondly the young thin hispanic girl was granted an entire month off because she "didnt have a babysitter". Unfortunately my grandmothers funeral fell into the same month that the young hispanic girl "needed a babysitter".I told larry that attendance at a funeral is not something for him to deny me. i told him i was going and to fire me if he must. he did fire me, and not only did he fire me, out of spite he edited my time clock and shorted me almost 70$ on my last check which i eventualy got resolved after hours on the phone with the regional manager and human resources.
let us recap. scarry larry fired me for attending my grandmothers funeral with plenty of notice. he only hires women and is intimidated by other men. he likes to have womenm work under him and be subordinate. out of the hatred and coldness of his heart he shorted my paycheck 70$. if you walk into Rack Room Shoes today you will probobly see him there, standing behind the counter, arms crossed, glassey eyed, with a face like he hates the whole entire world.
all of this in adition to the fact that he is rude and doesnt help customers and the stores prices are the highest ive ever seen (especialy for an outlet mall)
