IF YOU ARE A FASHION DESIGNER LOOKING TO ATTEND A SHOW PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS PERSON OR HIS AFFILIATES COMPANIES. THESE ORGANIZATIONS ARE BAIT AND SWITCH OPERATIONS LURING YOU INTO GIVING UP YOU MONEY FOR AN “ELABORATE SHOWCASE” DON’T NOT FALL INTO THE TRAP YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
I collaborated with Runway Report Miami (try googling it as it is not a real company) to showcase my collection. Things stated out nice the venue was confirmed, big magazine and media outlets were confirmed to cover the show, 3 model agencies were on board, signature cocktails and wine and cheese for guests were confirmed per the sponsors of the event. Kept checking up and “everything was on schedule, things good to go”.
I travelled to New York to attend the event. I was invited to a runway report meet and greet which I showed up really late to and didn’t even have a drink. The organizer had opened a tab under my name and ran up a huge bar tab for all his friends and the bartender gave me the tab to pay because the event was booked under my name. The organizer tried to leave at this point but luckily the bouncers wouldn’t let him leave. In the end the 4 cops turned up and I had to pay half of the tab or be arrested!!
I got to the actual event space the next day which I was told was paid for and the owner said she donated the space. Surprisingly, no one from the “Runway Report” was not onsite and the hairstylist inform me that she was waiting on our 8 models even though 20 models were confirmed. The make-up artist held me to ransom because she wanted to paid up front and the organizer told her it was the designers responsibility to pay even though I had already paid the organizer. Nothing was set up we didn’t have a steamer or rack, the models has to sit on the floor to get their hair done.
The guest arrived to no cocktails, wine or food which were not informed about in prior. The organizer turned up at some point didn’t even come backstage I had to go looking for them and they then told me there would be no music as well. My clothes were all creased and the images that have been posted are dreadful and the runway report told the whole credit for the show.
Anyone in the fashion industry or trying to get into it will probably have a rip off report of their own.
