Refrigeration School, Inc Reviews

If you are thinking of a career in HVAC first realise that you don't need to go to school for it. Second, realise that as of 2009 the available jobs for entry level are few to nonexistant. If you don't have constrution background this is probably not an occupation for you. This school touts pre recession stats on the need for HVAC techs and tell you about all the techs that will soon retire. Sure, during the building boom there was a need for installers. Anyone with a rudimentary understanding of electrical work could do this. Most installers were trained on the job.

RSI is ripping off you and the government in student loans by extending an otherwise 2-3 month course into an government accredited program that just passes students through. Trane, Carrier and other large manufacturers will train you for free on their equipment. I have a friend who was a maintainence man, bought a AC company, and this is how he did it. I should have listened to him.

Do your homework well before you enter any school where they say there is a need for. Of my class of thirty which graduated in early 2009, I only know of one person who is working in HVAC. (if he doesn't get laid off for the winter)
