New Prinicpal

I must say I am very disappointed in the new adminsitration at Renaissance. It seems like the only communication Ms. Luicci likes to do is email for volunteers, donations, rainy day dismissals. The lack of communication and disorganization is scary. i have contacted the district office and still no answers.

I couldn't agree with you more!

This school is falling apart! There is no communication between the administration and parents unless it is for popsicle parties or dojos. The main focus of a school should be on education but there is no education going on at the school. There are no resources to teach kids, very few books, and a staff full of uncertified teachers and full time substitutes because the real teachers are smart enough to get out of that mess.

This is a confirmation of our meeting this evening at the school.

In attendance were: parents of a student, the principal; Ms. Nicole Luicci, and the vice principal; Christiana Coburn.

Five things were up for discussion:

Text book……solved

Homework ….the class teacher will no longer be emailing homework as she had started doing at the beginning of the term. . . . Mutual understanding.

Syllabus/Curriculum . . . solved.

Correction of class tests/assignments: Ms. Nicole Luicci states, “My teachers are not required to indicate what the correct answer should be whenever they mark class tests, assignments, or anything. If a student needs to know what the answer is, they and THEIR parents MUST figure it out themselves.”

One of the parents asked her to go slow that it could be written what she said, word for word. She became clearly upset, but obliged. Thus, care was taken to write down her exact spoken words and not leave it to memory.

The hitting incident (this has to do with a teacher hitting the parents’ child) . . . when asked about this, Ms. Nicole Luicci, the principal, at Renaissance Charter School at Saint Lucie West responded, “Well – since that was before I became the principal, this September. I will be “clearing that incident from my charts. It’s in the past, let’s move on.”

Once I asked about the hitting incident the principal there at Renaissance Charter School, Saint Lucie west became VERY VERY COMBATIVE. Hard to do, I stayed calm. It made no sense to fuel the fire. It's time to allow the legal arm of the law to take over!

The public may have to think twice whenever they are told to donate money, stationery etc. to this "school." In the past I have done so, only to ask myself: Is this primarily a business institution that is protraying themselves as a school and/or is this a school putting profits way above education. I FEEL RIPPED OFF!
