My contract with Robert Marshall read: Completely reconstruct all seat bottoms, backs with new PVC board, new foam cushions and new marine upholstery. Seats were orginal since 1991, and the plywood, upholstery and foam cushions were completely rotten.
I had paid a different company to design and embroider Logos on all seat back upholstery pieces to be used on the seat backs a total of $350.00. Robert Marshall picked them up and signed for them, so he could use them to complete project. [
For 6 months of pleading with Robert Marshall to complete work, he always had an lame excuse that he couldn't access the boat and he was unable to find the boat because it was constantly being moved. The engine work and the bottom paint work had been done for 2 months and the boat placed back in the water for easy access.
He finally brought back 3 seat bottoms and 1 floating cushion and the bottom seat cushions sealed in heavy plastic to keep clean. He never notified me that he brought these to my boat. When I arrived and found seats in plastic I unwrapped and found he had painted the 24 year old rotten plywood seat bottoms with white paint and used the same 24 year old foam and low quality upholstery with short life spam.
Robert never returned the L shaped lounge seat and hardware or the captains helm seat with adjustable hardware nor the rest of the customer logos I paid for. The full contract was for $3200.00 , which also covered repaing the gel-co on the sundeck area and the aft deck area.
Robert Marshall asked for a $1200 deposit to purchase materials and gave me a verbal that he would have the job done in 6 weeks to 2 months which he never did.
When I called him to tell him I was coming to pick the balance of my seats , upholstery not used and logos, he threatened me to call the police and told me he didnt have them any more. He sent emails to my wife which we still have saying he wanted to screw us and tried to antagaize my hushand to start a fight.
I had to hire another Upholstery company and pay them to redo and finish job and restruct the parts he never returned , they did a great job. They told me at the most Robert Marshall spent about $59 in cheap materials at the most.
He only laughed in my face , knowing what he did wrong and got away with it. Even though we filed a police report nothing was done to him for his actions and rip off. I am a disabled veteran and if he would do this to me , someone who faught for his freedom, he is an awful person.
