Rockland Toyota Reviews

  • Oct 9, 2014

In the beginning of September 2014, my 2001 Corolla was in for an oil change... at that time it was suggested that this car have

1. Oil Pan Gasket replaced... leaking $240.00

2. Transmission Pan Gasket replaced... leaking $370.00

3. Valve Cover Gasket replaced... leaking $165.00

4. Two tires replaced at $254.69 or four tires replaced at $418.00

5. Alignment for the wheels.... $119.99

6. Front brakes replaced for $325.00

You must thank Mavis Tire in West Haverstraw for my suspicious and jaded viewpoint because they tried to screw me over in the past with a company vehicle when I had it in for an oil change over two years ago. Let me tell you the end result of this...

Had my mechanic in PA look at the car to see what it needed to pass a much stricter than NY inspection.... all it needed was two new tires.

Got 2 new Cooper Tires, Mounted, Valves, Balanced, Alignment for $335.00 at a tire shop in Spring Valley that is very honest.

Paid the PA mechanic and asked him what this car might be needing above and beyond the tires... he informed me that the power steering rack had a leak and to keep on top of it. $37.00 for the PA inspection fee.

So, all of these leaking gaskets are not a big deal and the brakes had enough life on them to get an Inspection sticker good through 10/15.

If you want to waste money on repairs that are not needed, then go to Rockland Toyota.
